Hi everyone. This is my first ever post. Being ttc for one year and im 2 months away from my 40th birthday. Ive just completed my 3rd cycle of 50mg of clomid. Blood tests for first round werent too good, but i got tested on day 23 this week and it showed progesterone level of 67. A level of 30 is meant to indicate ovulation occured. Ive done a clear blue digital test today and it shows me to be 2-3 weeks pregnant! what I am wondering is if this is accurate, as the egg time thing was flashing while it came up with the word pregnant, then 2 mins later the 2-3 weeks came up. Normally nothing comes up until the egg timer is finished. Also wondering if possibility of twins if i am definately pregnant due to progesterone test

Trying very hard not to get too excited as I found out on 4th Jan that I was pregnant, but lost it only 3 days later.

Any advice?

Sounds positive! Congratulations!

As far as the progesterone level, I wouldn't worry about twins. While on clomid (didn't work for me) my progesterone was anywhere between 30's and 130's.

Having said that, clomid does increase the risk of multiple.... Wink

My clearblue egg timer was still flashing after the pregnant appeared until the weeks came up and I'm now 36 weeks today! The test sounds correct to me, massive congratulations and hope all goes well x

Congratulations!! There's nothing to worry about at all. This seems to happen for the 2-3 weeks setting.

I think how it works is that there are two lines. One to detect pregnancy at high sensitivity (Pregnant or Not Pregnant). The other is less sensitive and the darkness of it is measured (conception indicator)

Lines always take a while to reach their maximum darkness so the test has to allow time for that. With the 1-2 weeks it probably takes so long to appear because it is giving the more sensitive line time to appear and reach a certain darkness. If it doesn't, then obviously not pregnant. If it does take a while to appear, it will know it is really early, hence 1-2 weeks right away.

With 3+ weeks, if the hcg is strong, the less sensitive line may well pop up right away at the required darkness, so it knows right away to say 3 weeks.

With 2-3 weeks (and perhaps some 3 weeks+ maybe?) it is waiting for the second line to finish developing and wants to see if it will reach the required darkness for 3 weeks+ and it decides based on how dark that line is how far along you are.

That's my guess anyway! I know there are two lines in there of differing sensitivities. My 2-3 weeks one did the same as yours, the 1-2 and the 3+ popped up with the "Pregnant".

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for the responses. Might do another test at end of the week to reassure myself! Still cant get too excited until it feels real if that makes sense.

Hi. I am 43 years old and my period is 16 days late. My cycle is normally 23 to 24 days with my last period on 28th August 2013 but this only lasted 2-3 days and was fairly light. I had unprotected sex on the 24th and 27th day of my cycle. I have done four pregnancy tests, 2 clearblue digital and 2 first response and all were negative. The last test was done when I was 13 days late. Today I have felt sick a lot and vomitted this morning. This evening I have had some brownish/yellowish discharge and then later light brownish/pink discharge. Over the past couple of weeks I have had cramping on and off and a little spotting. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before and the only time I have missed a period was when I was pregnant with my son. I can't work out whether I am pregnant this time or whether something else is going on like early menopause?? I am waiting for doctor's blood test to come back. She is testing hcg and fsh and oestradiol levels. Dying to know if pregnant or not. Can anyone offer any clues??
