With my first child I felt movement around 16 weeks an had a very noticable bump by this stage, but with this preganancy I havnt felt any movement and also got a very little bump, all tho I did have a 4d scan at 16 weeks an the lady did say that she was hid/tucked in my placenta and when she moves from behind there that's when I will shoot out with a bump I'm still worried advice please!!

I think this is normal if you have an anterior placenta. (i.e at the front of your bump) The placenta cushions the movements.

I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel definite movements until about 21 weeks. Also had a small bump but not sure if the two were related!

If you are panicking I would give your MW a call. Smile

That's normal iv had anterior placenta with my last 3 dc and with each of those didn't feel moment till around 20 to 23 weeks x

Every pregnancy is different I didn't feel mine at all until 20 weeks. Some babies seem to be carried further forward /back than others, and some people has less waters. I remember meeting a woman who was 36 weeks when I was 18 weeks and we were about the same size. But always bother your MW if you're worried that's what they're there for.

I had an anterior placenta with my first and didn't feel anything til 20 weeks (also had no bump until about 6 months). Second time I have more of a bump (well, I'm fatter) but almost 20 weeks now and still haven't really felt anything.

I am in pretty much same situation as you. Im 1 wweeks with dc3 and have felt the odd flutter/roll since 14 weeks but then nothing for 3 days now. I also had 16 week 3d scan and it showed anterior placenta so im thinkin that explains this lack of movement.

As for a bump i hardly have anything and people who dont yet know about bubs havnt a clue, i wasnt massive with dc1+2 so im thinkin i wont be this time. Its best to check out lack of movement once past a certain number of weeks but at our stage im thinking (hoping) this is normal x

Thanks for the comments think I will just wait it out till my next scan on the 24th to see how bbys doing. Fingers crossed should be feeling more movements by then :)

Hi - just wanted to say I didn't really start to feel much movement this time until 20-22 weeks. I'm now 30 weeks and keep being told what a small/neat bump I have.
MW told me at 28 weeks appt that it's because he is in a transverse (across my body) position and therefore sitting inside my pelvis really.

Basically try not to worry too much over the next couple of weeks. Then at your 20 week scan you can interrogate the sonographer on position of baby/placenta

I never felt any movement until DS was huge, and then only his bum pushing up into my ribs occasionally. The placenta was in the way. I think this must be part of how some women have babies without knowing they were pregnant at all? I'm pregnant again now and can't believe how much I can feel this time around.
