My baby is due next month, I have a pile hanging out, I can see it, I have tried pushing it back in but it pops out.
I am so embarrassed, will I need to go to the doctor? What will he do? Can it wait til Monday or not?
It feels horrible, looks the size of a grape.
Am close to crying :(

V common during pregnancy unfortunately.... (Google and it will give the reasons why) and may get even worse after you've given birth because of all the pushing. Lots and lots of women have them during pregnancy and after giving birth it's very common.

Definitely can wait until next week to go to the doctor! He will probably prescribe you some cream and tell you to drink more fluids/ fybogel.

Go to pharmacist and buy some preparation H or Witch .hazel if painful in the mean time.

So it wont pop out any more then? It looks awful, I can feel the pain and pressure, shall I just leave it or keep pushing it back in?
Have tried googling, Mumsnet always knows more than Google.
Thanks for your reply.

Hiya... It might pop out more.. You might get more. ... It might go away (probably not until you've had the baby though if anything like mine).

Piles are a pain... Literally. But take comfort in the fact that they are very common ! Honestly... Open up to your friends you will probably find that most of them got them while preggers or after labour. Hideous things.

If it hurts to go to the toilet there are various things you can try I can't remember all the tips and tricks but if you google you should get some (check mumsnet obviously!). I seem to recall using .kY jelly and witch hazel. Think some swear by ice (am not pregnant but had piles during my two pregancies)...

I would go to the doctors and get prescribed some scheriproct gel, it works really well. Over the weekend I found a witchazel ice pack was amazing. (Frozen peas in a j cloth dipped in witchazel solution). I had this 4 weeks ago (am now 39+4) and its gone for now (almost certainly will pop back out during labour :(. )

Good luck!

Hello, you can take Anusol in pregnancy, you can pick it up in Superdrug without even having to talk to a pharmacist if it's too embarrassing. I've only had the internal ones but they go really quickly with anusol... they're very common in pregnancy :(

Blondie276 · 05/10/2013 08:01

I have suffered with them anyway but have got worse during pregnancy. I went to mw and gp and both have said there is nothing that can be done about them- they will just go of their own accord. Even said stuff you buy doesn't assist getting rid of them, just helps to relieve symptoms.
It's horribly embarrassing and the pain is unbelievable at times! It is the one thing that is making me petrified about giving birth so i feel your pain! Im 32 weeks now and getting more scared by the day!

Lying bastards (sorry if that's not what you want to hear). I got mine in labour with dd, they got a bit better but were always still there. Pregnant again now and they are back with a vengence.

There is no way they are going to clear up on their own, I'm going to get them banded once I'm on my feet again after the birth.

The doctor did say you could have that but it said it was such a horrendous thing to have done . He would only recommend it if it was affectly quality of life ion a daily basis. Seems its one if those things that either way there is no quick fix :(

Thanks for the replies.
Update;
Had a hot, soapy bath and disracted myself by reading the thread on here about the lady babysitting who got a water stain on a white sofa, I pushed the lump hanging out really firmly back in.
Still hurts and feels like my arse is inside out, but I feel ok :)

noIhaven't glad you are feeling a little better.

NoIHaventHadTheBabyYet · 07/10/2013 12:51

I went to the chemist to buy Anusol, they refused to sell it to me, I was Blush and Angry as the chemist was full of people.
Need to go to the other chemist miles away now, is Anusol an ingredient for Meth - did they think I am chemistry teacher/80 million pound turnover drug producer?
My arse still hurts :(

they wouldn't sell it to you? Nasty people. I have a box of Germoloids in my bathroom cabinet, constantly in use each month of this pregnancy #3. I think you can just get it off the shelf in a chemist. Have a look.
I thought baby was coming out last time I had piles, pain was so bad.
