Hi, wondering if anyone has had this. My bp was high today.
No protein in urine but mw wants to see me Saturday to recheck bp and urine.
I have had head aches but put it down to tiredness (looking after ds 3 and dd 22 months on my own as dh working away and working full time)
I have also had two occasions of visual disturbances - one was black blobs the other was a flashing orange light in a picture!

So has anyone had this and it all just calmed down?
I know that the visual disturbances are a warning of PE but don't they need to be frequent/ constant?

Any advice/ experiences gratefully received.
x

My blood pressure was "normal" through out my pregnancy but i suffered with headaches and some "black spots" every now and then my MW put it down to being dehydrated. She suggested drinking about 3l of water a day and having a few naps, the naps probably wont work for you as you have to look after your kids but try water, it helped me..

No protein = no pre eclampsia at the moment. High BP doesn't necessarily lead to PE. And it is easy to just get one high reading so that's probably why she wants you back to her first of all.

You may just have developed straightforward gestational hypertension which they will keep an eye on and may treat you for. The general threshold for uncomplicated hypertension is over 90 diastolic (bottom no.) they'll refer you to the consultant that week, over 100 they'll refer you that day, over 110 they'll admit you.

Do you know what your reading was?

Do you ever suffer with migraines? It's possible to get the aura without the actual migraine and if I remember correctly hormones are a leading cause of them in women. I know I had auras with visual disturbances a few times without the migraine after during pregnancy, but my BP didn't got any higher than expected. As long as the MWs are keeping an eye on you and you feel ok there's nothing to worry about really Smile

Don 't get migranes. Just headaches.
Reading was 95/130

Ok well that's raised but not scary high. If you get another reading like that your MW should refer you to a consultant. Honestly don't worry too much, raised BP on its own isn't anything too scary, you might just need medication while your pregnant.

Went again today. bp 90/138 today. Going to check it again next week. Still no protein so not too worried. Just kept telling me to take it easy - not easy with 2 under 4yrs, dh working away, working ft and now packing for house move Confused
thanks for support x
