Toddlers bouncing on tummy?

Anyone else pg and have a toddler who loves climbing / sitting / bouncing on them?

I'm trying to get her to be careful but it's hard. I'm only 10 weeks - can it do any harm at this stage? Presumably baby is still well protected in pelvis?

I'm 39 weeks and been jumped/climbed/sat on all along by a 3 year old boy, you're stronger than you think don't worry. It does hurt more the bigger you get when you get an elbow bearing the whole weight of a toddler in the belly though! x

I don't think it can do any harm at 10 weeks because your uterus only peeks over your pubic bone at 12-ish weeks.

Definitely not a problem Smile

Oh thanks all! Very reassuring.

'Climbing on mummy' seems to be the post-nursery bonding activity of choice at the moment...

My DD does this all the time to me. I've been a bit worried, but I'm sure this happens to nearly all subsequent babies!

PseudoBadger · 03/10/2013 14:29

Made it to almost 39 weeks being jumped on, sat on, tantrummed on etc. However I'm very worried about the same happening to my section wound next week :(

DD also does this all the time, though not as much now I've stopped making a fuss or letting on it's bothering me. I was worried because i'm rhesus negative but so far everything is fine. If they cotton on it annoys you they will take advantage though. Last time DD did it a couple of weeks ago she dug her knees right in to my bump and said, pleased as punch, "Look Mummy! I'm hurting the baby!" I ignored her and she hasn't done it since. I'm 27 weeks now.

Very relieved to read all this. Altered your post re your DD made me smile - testing boundaries is she? Smile

Mine's still quite little (14 months) so just doesn't get that the tummy area might be off limits for bouncing all of a sudden...

I have been wriggling DD down onto my pubic bone to avoid her literally bouncing on the bump. That said the bump seems to like its sibling abusing it judging by the enthusiastic response.

I fear i am merely growing DD's partner in crime.
