Popping noise in bump

I was just sitting down and heard 2 quite distinct pops from my bump. Almost like a squelchy pop iyswim.

I know that a pop can sometimes be heard when your waters go but my waters haven't gone yet!

I'm 36+3, any ideas what this noise could be?

I read another thread very similar to this the other day. Sorry I'm not much help Lj but I don't think anyone said it was something to worry about. Someone did mention it can be air that's trapped around the baby, but I haven't experienced this yet. Shall be watching to find out more though Smile

Do you know, I had one of those earlier today and wondered what it was. - nothing seemed to happen water-wise afterwards but... hm... now you're making me think!! (I'm 40+1)

Well nothing has happened since.

My dp came home just as it happened, and I was like frozen to the spot scared to get up in case I got a gush of water. He laughed and as he went back out to work shouted "ill keep my phone to hand then" scared me even more!

Haha! I'm more worried that I've done a bit of leaking and not noticed now! Will keep my fingers crossed for you. And my own legs crossed... Wink

Yeah thats what I thought, I've been checking all evening for any leakage!

Good luck!!

I had a thread about this a few days ago! The general consensus is that it's fine :)

Thanks daley I did just have a look at your thread, seems similar. Oh, the things nobody tells you about pregnancy!

Oh I had that! A strange, oddly loud popping noise, perhaps like the sound of a tiny limb dislocating as my over-active imagination advised me... On arrival of DS1 it turned out to be a rather adorable lip-sucking pop. Hope yours turns out to be a cute thing too :)

Sindarella · 02/10/2013 21:48

I had a pop then my waters broke a few hours after Grin

Lj8893 · 02/10/2013 21:50

Oh god sinderella there's still time then, I shouldn't relax just yet haha!

I'm 38+3 and have had the same thing twice in the last week. First time my DS heard it too because I was putting him in bed. He thought it was hilarious. No leakage though so it must just be the baby moving round.
