When did you first feel movements?

I'm 18 weeks with dc2 and no movements yet. Think I first had movements at 15-16 weeks with dc1 so starting to feel a little anxious. Midwife was very reassuring when I saw her 10 days ago, and I'm definitely getting bigger (although that could be all the salt and vinegar crisps I'm craving!). Just wondering if anyone else felt first movements fairly late?

I'm 17+1 and haven't felt anything as yet. I'm not panicking though, loads of different things can effect how early you feel movements.

Just over 21 wks. I was starting to get worried but apparently I have an anterior placenta which can mean you feel things later on.

I didn't feel ds2 move until I was 22 weeks and it turned out at my 20 week scan I had an anterior placenta. I was worried like you because I felt ds1 move around 17-18 weeks and people had told me you tend to feel the second earlier. I'd suggest if you haven't felt anything by your scan you ask them what the position of your placenta is as it might explain it.

I felt movements with DC1 at around 15 weeks, with DC2 it was nearer 20 weeks, like thecakeisalie I too had an anterior placenta with DC2. Everything was fine with DC2 but it was a very stressful pregnancy and feeling him move later just added to the stress, so I understand how you are feeling.

Thanks all. The mw did say an anterior placenta could hide movements so maybe that's what it is. Scan in 2 weeks so will have to wait until then I guess! But reassuring to hear I'm not alone in no movements at this point.

This is my first pregnancy and first felt slight movement around 15/16 weeks then much stronger at 19 weeks. My placenta is at the back/top so that's probably why I felt it earlier that some others. Maybe your placenta is anterior this time? If not I am sure you will feel your baby very soon Smile

I didn't realise I was feeling movement until they got stronger at about 20 -21 weeks but then it turned out the muscle spasms I thought I was having were actually the baby getting comfy. I felt these "spasms" from about 18 weeks.

19 / 20 weeks.. I ave an anterior placenta.

Danilou22 · 02/10/2013 21:20

I am 21 weeks pregnant with twins and have only just started to feel flutters! I am sure I felt my son a bit earlier. One of my babies placenta is anterior so I am assuming that is why. They were both certainly moving during my last scan!! Smile

About 25wks with dd1, anterior placenta, 15 was with dd2.

Wks not was!

20 weeks with DC1. Am 19 weeks now with DC2 and still haven't felt anything! Also a bit anxious about it.

I was 17 weeks and then from 18 weeks DH and I could both feel lovely little kicks. I'm quite small which I've been told makes a difference. My friend didn't feel anything consistent till 24 weeks and they told her it was due to placenta previa - luckily her placenta moved up now and she feels movement :)

I'm on my 3rd here and didn't feel them until about 22 weeks this time.
