I am about 8 wks pg with baby no 2 and have a 2 yo at home. I also work full time! I'm really suffering this time round with ms and severe tiredness to the point that I am sitting here at work feint pretty horrid. Does anyone have any tips or words of reassurance that this will end soon?

I am 8 weeks too and signed off. My job can be a bit stressful as well as smelly and I have all day vomiting and having to take anti emetics. I really feel for you! I never felt like this with ds. Also have to reapply for my job so not too good with all this off sick. Hope you start turning a corner soon.

Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough!! I felt rough from about 8 weeks onwards and it is only now at 14wks+5 that I'm starting to feel more myself. I was signed off sick from work (still am actually) and have only managed to work 3 days in the last 5-6 weeks.

I bow down with admiration and respect to any woman who has to go through early pregnancy whilst having other young children to look after. I have no idea how you do it!!

I hope things pick up for you soon x x

Thank you. It is good to know I am not alone feeling like this. I reminds me how luck I was with ds as I had almost no sickness and a relatively easy pregnancy. I am not sure how much more I can take of this and am on the verge of tears :-(

It's horrible Foxy, I really empathise. I'm 11 weeks with number 3 and moving house soon!

I've felt far worse this time. Though some say it's not an illness, i've felt really ill. It's like having a fluey/sicky bug for weeks on end.

I have no real tips but just take it one day at a time. Try not to think too far ahead, just get through the day. Rest as much as you can, take time off work. Accept help with your little one if you can get it.

Eat little and often, anything you can manage. Oh and watching mindless tele helps take my mind off feeling sick.

Finally NO GUILT. It doesn't matter how much tele or how many fish fingers your little one eats until this passes.

Sorry don't have any advice, but a lot of respect and admiration.

I am 36+1 with my first and an ever increasing workload (12 more workdays to go), however I am really stressing myself out about when I go back to work full time after mat leave with this level of workload to look forward to, being pregnant with number 2 (planning to), and will have a toddler to look after (and leave in childcare- cry!). I always thought women who can juggle all that are superwomen- maybe you are, and I will be soon enough?!

As middleclass says above, one day at a time. And keep that freezer stocked with fishfingers.

All the best- and enjoy that second trimester when it finally arrives!

I can really empathise with you OP - I'm now 12wks with dc2 but felt absolutely awful from 6wks onwards and only now starting to feel a bit better. I also wasn't sick with ds, who is also 2yo and a handful! I work 4 days per week but we're moving house tomorrow so it's all been a bit stressful!

I took anti emetics (cyclizine) from 7-9wks (wasn't throwing up but had debilitating nausea 24/7) and they definitely helped, albeit making me feel very spaced out instead. My gp prescribed them pretty readily, so maybe worth thinking about for you?

Hopefully it will pass for you soon, but it's shit when you're in the middle of it :(

9 weeks pregnant with an 11 month old baby here! It's horrendous! I also work 3 days a week, and the other two days the baby is with me on my own.

I'm hoping it does get better because right now, I just want to crawl into bed and hibernate (obviously impossible with a crawling baby!)

TarkaTheOtter · 02/10/2013 19:41

I found things better from about 14weeks. Still exhausted but no longer sick so feel less "ground down" by it all.

FoxyM · 02/10/2013 21:22

Thank you all for your tips. One day at a time is something I will definitely try and hopefully this will pass soon. As for being superwoman? Absolutely not, it's just that I get on with things and it helps that's enjoy my job and my son has a great mix of childcare. I am just feeling sorry for myself at the moment because I feel so dreadful but need to stop letting it grind me down (positive mental attitude) Shock

I'm starting to feel the sickness subsiding a little at 13 weeks. I haven't had morning sickness half as bad as some people but my secret weapon is Pretzels. They are delicious and my savior!

FoxyM · 03/10/2013 11:16

Can't cope today, so much for my PMA! Ready to cry here as I'm at work and can't focus on anything

Was just about to start a similar thread when I saw this.

I'm 11+4 with a 2yo at home (work full-time) and am sooo tired. Even tho the 2yo has finally started to sleep-through, I'm still absolutely jiggered by 3pm (and wondering if safe to drive home).

Also just want to eat crisps and chocolate.

Keep your chin up Foxy. Hopefully not long before you feel better.

Foxy, if you cant cope and are feeling so rough consider getting signed off. Nobody thanks you for killing yourself at work. Its self limiting and you will most likely feel loads better soon. I have decided not to stress about work, you are the important thing! Take care of yourself!

FoxyM · 04/10/2013 14:40

I've had today off work as a prebooked leave day and feel so much better today. Might be coincidence but felt much less sick today and although still tired have been looking after my 2 year old so that's kept me busy. Thank you all for your support
