Light bleeding at eight weeks

This afternoon ( at work, and a bit of a shock ) I found very light but bright red bleeding when I went to the bathroom.
Just hoping for some positive explanation for this rather than fearing the obvious. I'm at home now resting, and have an emergency scan arranged for tomorrow morning.
Fingers crossed
Xx
Ps none of my pregnancy symptons such as sickness have disappeared but I just feel as if I'm about to start a period.

I had a bleed at just before 8 weeks and everything was fine. There was no reason for it but I had a scan and the heartbeat was there and I'm now 29+1 so don't worry too much.

Just go to your scan tomorrow and see what happens.

I'd had cramping all the way through the first trimester and that bleed was heavier than a normal period so obviously I was worried but it is common to bleed early on.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrowSmile Thanks

I bled throughout my pregnancy.

Hi mamma, I'm 10 weeks and have an emergency scan tomorrow to as I've had some light bleeding and a funny 'poking' sensation in my abdomen. I've been trying not to google stuff so I don't have any explanations for you, but I just wanted to say you're not alone, lets hand-hold together.

I had similar bleeding at 6 & 9 weeks. All was fine (DS is now nearly 4!) and they couldn't find any reason for it. I also had painful stomach cramps, but was told this was my cervix stretching. Good luck for tomorrow

I also had bleeding at 8 weeks. My midwife told me that it could be breakthrough bleeding happening around when my period would be due. I had a good scan after so chances are you will be ok - good luck

Hi mamma, how did it go? All was fine at my scan, baby was wriggly and has a lovely strong heartbeat :) no explanation for the bleeding, it's just one of those things they say. I hope to hear good news from you too when you get a chance to update.

Mamma1979 · 02/10/2013 17:20

Hi, glad to hear your good news Compadre xxx that's brilliant.
We also have had good news, the hospital we are booked with is over an hour away so it's been a long day but the scan showed a heartbeat and an eight week foetus :)) so pleased.
Scan also showed up an area that might have caused the bleed, a cluster of heamoglobin cells ( probably caused by the original implantation ) and it just decided to have a bleed.
So fingers crossed for no more bleeding.

Fantastic!! Oh Mamma that's excellent news, what a relief! Here's hoping we have very boring pregnancies from now on!
