I find that Clear Blue aren't as accurate as cheaper brands. I guess she is very borderline so within the tolerance one got a yes and one a no - eg if the level is 10 units and she was 9.9...

She needs to get another couple of cheaper tests (I recommend a pound shop tbh, so you can get a fistful for the same price as one branded one) and wait a couple of days before testing again with FMU - easier said than done, I know!

In the early stages, ?HCG levels double about every day, so waiting a bit makes a big difference to accuracy.
Hope your sister gets the result she wants soon.

Thank you Horry. I did advise testing again in the morning. Waiting is very hard. This is her 6th round ivf

agree with horry first response (frer) are more sensitive than the clear blue digitals.

I would get more frer and do them tomorow morning and day after...

Hi I would advice using the pregnany tests from the chemist for a couple of pounds. More accurate and easier on the pocket. We midwives use the cheap ones (packs of a hundred). Remember to use the first morning wee

Best of luck to ur sister

I've just terrified that the negative means that it implanted for a day or two but didn't stick? Am I over thinking it? Losing my mind here

That would worry me too - I once had a faint positive when my period was due and then a period 3 days later.

SoupDragon · 01/10/2013 09:45

I'll keep my fingers crossed too.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 01/10/2013 09:52

Thanks soup Smile

I think false negative is more likely. Sounds like a bfp to me! Congratulations! I also used the cheap ones off eBay as easier to see a faint line

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 01/10/2013 12:59

Oh dear :(

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 01/10/2013 13:16

My heart is just broken for her.

So she'd only be 3+5? HCG of 8 isn't terrible for that gestation. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks Horry I'll keep you posted.

Two positive tests this morning

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 02/10/2013 07:46

That's positive on more ways then one, surely. Still keeping fingers crossed!

HorryIsUpduffed · 02/10/2013 07:56

Hurrah! FC for her xx

SoupDragon · 02/10/2013 08:03

When will she have more bloods done to check levels?

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 02/10/2013 08:05

Indeed. Afraid to get our hopes hope but the clear blue only reading hcg over 50 and the frer over 25 so I'm wondering did the labs make a mistake wither bloods yesterday. They did rush them through for her
