Baby bum positioning!

Hi all,

33 1/2 weeks here & I understand to avoid a back to back labour you want baby bum to be on the left. Well my little pickle likes his bum on the right!! They are still moving around & I can sometimes feel his bum in the middle of my tummy but 80% of the time it's to the right. I am (trying) to make sure I sit upright & forward, using a birth ball to sit on & lying on my left.

However my question is when's the point of no return? Do they settle in a position and stay there till labour or do they spin around up until labour starts? I know the head is down but not engaged yet.

Advice pls ladies!

Xx

I think it's too early to think about the position, yes at this stage most will still have room to move about.
Mine favoured the right at around 33 weeks. I'm 36 now and he is left now (confirmed by exam and ultrasound yesterday).
Hope that helps.

Mine was stubbornly on the right, right to the end. Went into labour that way and it caused no problems whatsoever Smile

Labour was quick and straightforward. He was never back to back. Hope that's a bit reassuring!

Another one here that had a stubborn back to back baby! My ds stayed that was in labour but it was a super fast and easy labour, easier than my ds who was in the right position. So even if worst comes to worst and bubs doesnt shift, try not to worry about it x

Both of mine had bum to the right for most of 3rd trimester. Neither was back to back.

Mine had her bum to the right from very early, she flipped around a few times but mostly stayed to the right, I have stretch marks only on my right hand side because she was always poking her bum out. She was back to back but I ended up with a CS for other reasons so don't know if it would have caused problems.

Can I please hijack a bit and ask how you know which bit is his bum? I get various hard lumps and so on, but never know which parts it is (36 weeks and baby has been engaged for 2 weeks now). I am wondering if I should be doing any of this stuff as it hasn't been mentioned by any of the midwives.... Thanks.
