Anxious

It's hard to explain but I keep having strong feelings of anxiety. I just don't know what I'm anxious about! I'm not facing anything unusual, work isn't fun but is the same as always. I just keep feeling a tightness in my chest and feelings of deep anxiety.

Is this just a hormone thing? Can I get it under control?

I would say it's probably hormones, I feel very unsettled most days and sometime give up and just go to bed early, hopefully it should settle xx

It could be just hormones but keep an eye on it and mention it to your MW or GP next time you have an appointment.

How far gone are you? I'm 35 weeks and the last few days I've been feeling SO anxious. I can't settle, don't want to do anything but want to do EVERYTHING.

We went away for a week's break and I came back yesterday after two days as I was just plain anxious. I've come home and am actually trying to sleep lots as I just can't chill out.

I'm pacing around the house a lot and getting upset about grime in weird places. I've had dogs who gave birth before and this is the same kind of neurotic behavior I noticed in them I think lol!

Ive felt the same Louisa - I feel like I can't cope with my job, Im so sensitive at the moment that any criticism/feedback sends me into a blind panic that Im going to be dismissed! My dh doesnt understand it, and we had words at the weekend so then that sent me off the scale again and I got it in my head that he was leaving me! Sad Its like I imagine the worst all of the time.. keep worrying my cats will get run over too thats another one... and the adrenaline and tightness in my chest too.. god when I read that back I look like a crazy loon!

Emily that sounds exactly like me.

I'm only 14 weeks and this isn't my first so I'm not sure what I'm do anxious about. Went on a lovely spa day to chill out but 24 hours later I was back to the same. I'm wondering if it's because I'm tired. A job, a 17 month old and a pregnancy isn't the easiest combination. I'm thought of as a bit of an ice queen but I've just been a snivelling ball of tears lately.

Bless you Louisa - I cant imagine how difficult it can be with a 17 month old in the mix too! You sound like you are doing a great job (even if you feel like you arnt) Im 14 weeks too - I wonder if this is a stage in hormone levels and weeks pregnant that causes some of us to feel anxious? Did you have it in your first pregnancy?

This is my first but Ive had depression in thr past - work triggered - so I am trying to keep calm and remind myself that I will be on mat leave in 4/5 months time so f - them... easier said than done however!
