bright yellow blood streaked discharge 12 weeks

I am 12 weeks pregnant and have had today very bright yellow, almost orangy discharge. It has now stopped but at one point was also streaked with blood. This discharge did not smell unpleasant but was just a v odd colour.

I have since been to a&e but they were unable to scan or even Doppler to check if the baby was okay. They did examine me and said I gave inflammation internally, probably caused by thrush. I'm travelling home now but am still worried - I have no itching and am not sure thrush would cause the bright yellow discharge.

His anyone got any idea what this was or experienced the same? I have also posted on the health board.

why couldn't they scan or Doppler you? sorry I can't be of any help with your symptoms, but don't take no for an answer if your worried.

also I had thrush A LOT during pregnancy, and it didn't give me yellow discharge, but quite thick creamy discharge. sorry if tmi!

I've had some bright yellow with blood & also some attractive lime green (bleurgh) waiting for swab results but midwife said she wouldn't be surprised if it was just 'normal' Apparently your discharge can get quite funky during pregnancy without anyone batting an eyelid.

I'm so sorry you didn't get the reassurance you needed from the hospital.

I'm 12wks tomorrow and get a LOT of discharge (also when not pregnant) which can vary in colour from creamy to yellow. If it's just blood streaks it's probably a bit of an irritated cervix - have you had sex recently? That can cause it as can a big poo

Have you had your scan yet? Mine's next Friday, but we heard the heart beat on our home Doppler last week. So reassuring :)

Hi if you search my nickname (im rubbish at links) I had blood streaked discharge lots during 2nd pregnancy with dd. Was scanned alot and all turned out ok in the end. I had a cervical ectropion which bled off/on right up till 33 weeks. If your worried though keep asking for a scan also if your rg neg maternity triage should see you for anti d inj I think from 12 weeks.

Hi, thanks for your responses, feling a bit calmer today and the discharge has stopped. Going to see the gp monday and hoping they'll swab to be on the safe side, but at least there is no smell or itching. Had a bit of a google and a few people have mentioned having the same thing so maybe it is to do with hormones.

Disappointed the a@e could not scan, doppler or take swabs though.

I have had some yellow discharge throughout pregnancy and have gone and had tests for everything under the sun worrying that it wasnt normal. Absolutely no infection or anything so it can be normal. Mine is yellow tinged though not bright yellow/orange.
