Antenatal classes at Whittington Hospital

Has anyone been to the AN classes at the Whittington? I'm trying to decide between going to those or going to an NCT one near me. Obviously the £300 price difference is the deciding factor here so if the hospital ones are good then I shan't bother with NCT.

NHS classes are a different thing from NCT classes. NCT is to have a chat and make friends. NHS is to talk about how that specific hospital does things and how they deal with complications for example.

I did both Whittington and NCT (although 5 years ago) - NCT is a small group - approx 6 couples - and structured in a much more 'getting to know you' way. NHS classes are much bigger (20ish to one midwife) and more informal - though some of us did meet up after, we just didn't know each other as well at that point so I mainly socialised with NCT.

If you are just going for antenatal lessons rather than find a mummy friend, then do the NHS ones and go on the tour - and join a postnatal NCT group for free afterwards. If you live in that area there are so many mum n baby things going on so you don't need to worry about missing out on NCT pals. :-)

Im booked into the Whittington but this is my 6th baby so I haven't been offered any classes. Just wanted to point out they stopped doing tours of the MLU its a virtual tour. Have a look online.
