And I've not been seen. I'm up for reduced movement (9 all day) and I don't know whether to mention to the midwifes that we've been sitting for so long or to wait a while longer. I don't want to be cheeky but I'm concerned for the wee one. Any ideas?

They may be busy. Definitely go and ask when you'll be seen.

5madthings · 25/09/2013 21:22

Is there a reception type desk? They may be just busy but you should be seen asap and have heartbeat monitored etc.

If there is a desk I would remind them you are there and say you are concerned.

I would go ask whats happening now. Are u in a waiting room or have u been put on the monitor yet? As a sister midwife myself i say go tell them now. Best of luck xxx

DaleyBump · 25/09/2013 21:22

I really don't want to bother them, I'm sure they'll just be busy. But then, what if they've forgotten about me? And it's so hot in the waiting room that I feel like I might pass out.

I've not been seen at all by anyone. Thanks for the advice, I'll just go and say.

Our triage has signs up saying waits could be 2-3 hours and would be prioritised due to clinical urgency. I guess the problem is you don't know what other problems patients have got tonight. I hope all is ok for you x

SecretWitch · 25/09/2013 21:23

Oh Daley, I'm sorry to hear this. Please do ask. Fingers crossed for you and your baby..x

DaleyBump · 25/09/2013 21:27

I would have asked after 30 mins! You don't have to be rude or pushy, just say that you know they are busy, but was just wondering how long it would be until you get seen as you are quite worried....

DaleyBump · 25/09/2013 21:29

Aww they brought me water too. They really are busy, someone was just brought up by paramedics so now I feel for awful for asking but they just forgot about me. They'll see me when they're able :) sure everything is fine, thanks everyone!

Midwifeandmum · 25/09/2013 22:13

Hope u get seen soon. Hope all goes well. But im quite concerned that u havent had baby listened into yet. U should be on a monitor. It only takes 2 minutes to put u on a monitor. Have u felt baby move? Xxx

DaleyBump · 25/09/2013 22:21

Sorry! I've been on the monitor for about 30 minutes now, they're taking me off it soon as the wee one seems fine :) thanks again everyone :)
