How do you work in a newborn who if I remember will just eat and cry all evening with getting a toddler to sleep?! I'm planning on Breastfeeding again so am welcome to lying in bed feeding and reading with both until toddler falls asleep. My partner works pretty much 24/7 so it's always me. Toddler used to be perfect-put him in cot chatting away and he would fall asleep himself-now he is in bed it's harder and I think he feels a bit exposed without cot(have tried again but he climbs out!)any advice will be welcome.

Can u put stair hate on his door? We did this with DD. she still sometimes gets up and plays for but but always takes herself to bed and tucks herself in

Would bed rails help?

Our toddler has got a stair gate on his bedroom door and a mattress on the floor, he goes to bed chats to himself and goes off to sleep shortly after. We have baby due in march, so I am hoping this bedtime cooperation continues until then!

Thanks everyone, I think we may, he is on a mattress anyway, he is such a climber that I think he'll find something to propel himself over a stair gate anyway, I am thinking of making some kinda hanging den/drape type thing over so he maybe feels more secure?!
