When did you get your first scan date through?

Hi everyone,

Not sure if I should be concerned or not. I'm 11+5 weeks pregnant and saw midwife at 9+3. She told me I would get a scan date sent through the post direct from the hospital. So that was just over 2 weeks ago and I've had nothing. NICE guidelines say a scan should be offered by 13+6 so that's only 2 weeks to receive a letter and receive a scan! I'm sure when I had my DS I had had my appointment through by now! All the documents I was given with contact numbers make it clear you should only call the midwife team/antenatal assessment unit in an emergency so I'm not sure what to do. So my question is when did you get your scan date through, and what would you do? Thanks.

I got my appointment within a week of my booking app (done at about 5 weeks, but I know that's v early).

If i were in your shoes I would definitely call someone tomorrow as I have read that a couple of people on here have been 'forgotten' and you don't want to miss your scan window.

I wouldn't give a second thought about 'emergency only' and the MW - they're supposed to be there for support throughout & it's a serious query - you want to see your baby! Smile

I had my scan date through last Friday when I was 9+1 for when I will be 12+4.

I saw the midwife at 8+4 so within days the letter came through.

I agree with PrincessKitkat you need to contact the hospital where you would be having your scan, give them your NHS number which should be on your maternity notes, you could have been lost in the system, or your letter has never arrived.

Hope you get your date tomorrow!

Thanks both. I don't want to sound over anxious so reassuring to hear others agree it seems a bit late. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Mine took 10 days after booking appt. midwife told me to ring her if I'd had nothing in two weeks. I think some must slip through the system. Hopefully if you ring tomorrow they should be able to fit you in ASAP. They often have free slots for problems like this afaik.
