Doing an about face on bump touching

I'll start off by saying that for the first 34 weeks I have been very rraaaargghhh about people touching my bump uninvited. However! Two incidents at the weekend have had me doing an about face....

On friday we took FIL out for a drink, he is a very quiet gentle man, softly spoken, and I think a lot of him. He will also be baby's only living grandparent. He's been quietly interested all through the pregnancy but is not a demonstrative person, just not his style. Anyway, baby did a huge roll and I kind of jumped, rubbed my belly, and all of a sudden grandpa just put his hand on my belly! Weirdest of all, I was really touched (emotionally not physically!), and it was obvious he was quite emotional about it all, asking me what it felt like, if it was uncomfortable for me, etc

Then on saturday we went to visit OH's auntie, who is a bit of a superstar but sadly not well, and as we were saying goodbyes she said "I just need to rub this for a bit of luck before you go!" Again, I was just really touched and a bit choked up really, but in a good way Smile

I think the hormones are softening me up! [Smile]

Aww lovely Smile

I think it depends on who is doing the touching. A lady asked my permission on Saturday, which was fine but other randoms who just "grab" really upset me. I can't for the life of me figure out why people think it's ok!

Aw bless you. It doesn't really put me up or down when people touch my bump, unless its my toddler giving his little sister a wave or a kiss, then it's just lovely

I thought I would hate people touching my bump but I loved it!

That's so lovely :) I've been groped twice in public today by people I hardly know and it's really getting on my tits.

Aww those sound like lovely times to have a bit of bump touching. I'm very protective of my personal space and will scowl at anyone but DH getting hands on. I wouldn't mind as much if it were family but its always some random person in a shop when I'm waddling about and having a particularly painful day (SPD, yay!), gosh I'm grumpy.

Ahh Thats made me fill up...

Your fil sounds lovely. My Mil passed away last Tuesday, i'd give anything for her to be around to rub my bump!
