Cramping and slight brown spotting 5 weeks

Hi everyone,

This is my first ever post, as I got a bfp last night! However I m a bit worried as yesterday I had a tiny bit of slight brown spotting and today I ve got period pains. It really feels like I m about to come on! Is this normal? I don t even have a midwife yet I could ask! I think I m 5 weeks along.

It sounds like it could be implantation bleeding, which is perfectly normal. If it gets worse or hasn't stopped by Monday, make a doctor's appointment and they might send you for a scan.

Thanks noble giraffe. The spotting seems to have stopped now but I still have the cramps. Is this just the uterus stretching etc or should I make an appt with the dr anyway? X

I had cramps as if I was about to come on for ages and was checking my knickers every minute! Was implantation pains.
Unless you bleed heavily or have terrible pains I wouldn't worry too much. Hard to do I know!

I had some pink spotting early on, but GP wasn't too worried about it. It disappeared and now, I'm down to my last 3 weeks of pregnancy!
