Congrats Xiao! Love the name.

I'll be a week overdue tomorrow and am getting bored of this pregnancy lark...

donttellalfred · 29/09/2013 17:08

Also CruCru hope it goes ok tmw with your DS being picked up - I have the same feelings about we three being a happy unit already - but I'm sure all those apprehensions will dissolve when the new babies (finally) arrive!

Fozziebearmum2be · 29/09/2013 17:49

Going mad here... Hmm

Had a mini show yesterday and bh's area getting stronger and stronger but each time they start they don't last long. But then come back the next day a little stronger....driving me bonkers like Im going to be waiting forever!

Come on baby-time to leave Smile

Hope you're all having more luck than me!

Wickedgirl · 29/09/2013 21:47

Can I join in please?

I am 38+4 with baby 4 and I too am Fed up with false labour. I have had 2 nights of contractions. The first night they were every 8 minutes for 2 hours and then stopped and the second night they were every 10 minutes for 3 hours.

I either want contractions that do something or no contractions at all so that I can sleep.

Fozziebearmum2be · 29/09/2013 22:08

Exactly wickedgirl! Either stay here or go and let me rest...

It's my first baby so I have no idea what to expect and whether the feelings are real contractions or just bh's..

Happier at the weekend as dh is nearby but he works 1.5 hours away so have no idea when its real labour so when to call him! Reckon it'll be hard to put my TENS machine patches on myself...if he's at work.

Any tips on knowing the difference?

CherriesOnTop · 30/09/2013 07:43

Hi everyone - I'm 39 weeks today and have only just discovered this thread, hope I'm not too late to join!
This is my second pregnancy so thought I'd offer my advice on difference between 'real' and BH contractions to Fozzie... Basically, for me, the BH contractions were all at the front of the bump and felt like tightenings, which were sometimes uncomfortable but not really painful. Real contractions were different - they felt like period pains and were much lower, in my back and also in my tummy. I've been told that you can make a BH contraction ease off by walking around, whereas it's more likely to make a real contraction feel even more painful. Hope that helps!

I thought i was going into labour a few days ago as I lost the mucous plug, but nothing has happened since then... Getting more tired and uncomfortable every day! DS1 was on his due date, so somehow I'd convinced myself that this baby might be a bit early... Any time this week would be fine with me!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 30/09/2013 08:09

Hello, another one fucked off with braxton hicks and wanting this darn baby to just arrive. big sympathy with all of you. This is my 3rd and o had about two weeks of this with each of my other 2 which lakes ne want to cry, quite frankly. I'm tired of heartburn stopping me sleeping, then insomnia and bh waking me at 4am. Plus small children not letting me rest, and all the walking with PGP.

Am 38 weeks and very grumpy today.

Would love to just wallow in bed all day with cake and ice cream!

gainsbourg · 30/09/2013 09:28

Hello! I'd like to join you all too please! I'm due tomorrow with baby number one, so imagine that I'll probably still be waiting at the weekend... Especially as he was barely engaged on Friday and I have had no signs of any impending labour. In fact, I felt more symptoms last week. Now I feel perfectly normal with no urge to clean/tidy/prepare for an imminent arrival! I'm going to go on a mammoth dog walk later and eat a pineapple. I've also booked myself in for reflexology tomorrow. I'm aware that these things will probably all prove futile but I have an exam on the 10th so I need him out soon (or not until after 1.30pm on the 10th!).
Good luck everyone!

GeorgieJo · 30/09/2013 10:04

I am waiting too! 39 + 3 with my first.

Half of me is longing for birth to start - can't wait to meet the baby, and it feels like I have been pregnant forever.

On the other hand I am sleeping so badly that I can't imagine going through labour - and then looking after a newborn - when I am already this exhausted...!

Any others in the same position? Please tell me that we all have hidden reserves of energy that will help us through the first few weeks...

TeWiSavesTheDay · 30/09/2013 10:49

I just ate half a pineapple gainsborough just contemplating ordering a really spicy pizza for dinner tonight. Could really do with baby out before 7th, but not due until 14th.

Georgie I honestly find the first few weeks with a new born much less exhausting than the end of pregnancy. I think hormones carry you through a bit, plus someone else can carry the baby for a bit!

PinkApple86 · 30/09/2013 16:37

I'm going in for induction tomorrow at 40+12. I wouldn't waste your energy on the pineapple it didn't work for me, or the jalapeno sandwiches, curry, walks, dtd. I suppose it helped pass the longest 2 weeks of my life! This time tomorrow I'll hopefully be in labour, or even have a baby after a painless sneeze birth (fingers crossed eh!) Hang on in there ladies. It won't be long.

gainsbourg · 30/09/2013 20:09

Good luck for tomorrow pinkapple - so exciting that you'll finally meet your baby!

Fozziebearmum2be · 30/09/2013 20:22

Good luck Pinkapple! Grin

Felt sick and dodgy tummy all afternoon...which made me feel rubbish...but hoping its a good sign!

CruCru · 01/10/2013 04:41

I can't sleep. Today is the day.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 01/10/2013 07:53

Good luck pinkapple!

Wickedgirl · 01/10/2013 09:02

Good luck for today pineapple. I hope it's a nice quick one for you Flowers

Wickedgirl · 01/10/2013 09:03

*pinkapple even!

Fozziebearmum2be · 01/10/2013 09:27

Crucru-u being induced/CS today
too?

Good luck if you are Smile

Need a rant....so after feeling v sick yesterday I had stronger and stronger tightenings/back ache/period pains on and off all night...! Tried to sleep some of which was successful, some not. Kept thinking great-it's here (!)
ended up starving so DH made me some food about 6am.

Anyways about 7 it stopped... Wtf! Dh was planning on staying off work but has now gone in late and I've had a kip.. Really really annoying... Shock

Especially as dh is 1.5 hours away.... Hmm

Xiaoxiong · 01/10/2013 12:29

Good luck to CruCru and pinkapple!!

We're on day 4 at home and DS2 is a fabulous little pudding, his big brother is doting on him Smile

donttellalfred · 01/10/2013 18:18

Good luck CruCru and pinkapple!

donttellalfred · 01/10/2013 18:19

How was today Fozzie?

Fozziebearmum2be · 01/10/2013 21:17

Don'ttell-managed to nap this morning thanks and had more bh's so started timing them. But they're really irregular so think it's just bh's :-( and nothing exciting. Will be 40+8 on Friday so planning to have a sweep at my mw apt if I'm still pregnant and reckon at this rate I will be!

Anyone else overdue and getting a bit fed up...?

TeWiSavesTheDay · 02/10/2013 07:29

I'm not actually overdue, but they moved my EDD so it feels like it!

I woke DH at 5.30 after bh all through the evening and night yelling 'ow!' he jumped out of bed before I could explain it was just cramp in my leg...

PinkApple86 · 03/10/2013 08:21

Thanks everyone. I had my baby on 1st Oct at 18:42. A boy 7lb 10oz. Went for induction and baby's heart rate was up and down and they were worried it was meconium as he was 12 days late so skipped the pessary, they took me to labour suite and broke waters, after 2 hours pains were starting, had drip at 3, pushing at 6 and he was out 42 mins later. Used gas and air, TENS and pethedine. Small tear no stitches. I feel so amazed by it all and can't believe I gave birth so fast. Good luck to all of u still waiting. When the time comes this horrible overdueness will be a distant memory.

MummyJetsetter · 03/10/2013 09:55

Hi all, about time I joined in here! I'm 39 weeks today but my ds was born at 38+4 so very much feeling overdue now! Silly I know but I'm starting to get back ache and just feel so heavy and sluggish! Las labour I was woken early hours of the morning with waters breaking and ds was born 5 hours later, had no signs anything was going to happen before that so I'm non the wiser when it comes to what to expect as I don't know what I slept through! Getting all sorts of twinges but not leading to anything yet. So confused/frustrated! x
