I'm 20 aka pregnant and I haven't felt my baby move yet. It's starting to worry me abit as everyone I speak to has felt them move. My tummy feels tender when I press on it and Im just starting to worry a little. Just wondering what people think before I out right panic and call the midwife!

The Royal College guidelines says to contact Dr/Midwife if you have not felt any movement by 24 weeks so try not to worry too much. And tender tummy sounds pretty normal.

I didn't feel anything until 19 weeks so try and hang in there.

Thank you! It's first baby after 3 miscarriages so I think am getting paranoid! :)

I did not feel my second child until well after 20 week scan - she was facing inwards I think?

BonaDea · 20/09/2013 18:26

Do you have an anterior placenta by any chance (should say in your notes / scan paperwork if so). I did and didn't feel my baby move til 21 weeks or so. I never had any of the fluttery feelings people describe - just a proper prod!

Am sure all is fine. Good luck.

Sallypockets · 20/09/2013 18:31

Not been told of I have that and doesn't say in notes. Will they tel me if I have t at next scan?

you can ask at the scan, and will be able to see its position.
i have anterior high placenta and i felt flutters early but they didn't feel like proper hard kicks and prods til recently. i'm 24 weeks.
wouldn't be concerned - in my 20 wk scan baby was dancing about and i couldn't feel a thing.

SadPander · 20/09/2013 19:12

I have an anterior placenta and they didn't tell me or write in my notes until 20 week scan - so I was pretty worried by the time I went for the scan and still hadn't heard anything. Starting feeling movement about 21/22 weeks, nothing definite until 23.

Is it long till your scan?

SadPander · 20/09/2013 19:12

felt anything sorry, not heard!

HideNotSeek · 20/09/2013 19:41

I was around 22 weeks when I first felt my DD move. They told me at my 20 week scan that it I probably had felt anything due to the placenta placement.

DoudousDoor · 20/09/2013 19:50

I had flutters at 21 weeks and tiny kicks after about 24 weeks. It felt really late but DS made up for it later (one word - oww!!!)

Sallypockets · 20/09/2013 20:37

My scab is in a couple of weeks and ill be 22 weeks. Just seems like it's taking forever and I don't have much of a tummy. Thought I would be bigger by now and have felt him! Just hope it happens soon!

Hi, I am 19+2 today and only yesterday did I feel something that may have been baby (this is my second so I should know)! I spoke to the midwife at my appointment last week and she said it wasn't unusual to not feel anything yet, she listened with her doppler and there was all sorts of noise going on (as well as the HB) which she said was baby crashing around I just couldn't feel it! Oh and people aren't even realising that I am pregnant yet because I hardly have any bump!

MrsPatMustard · 20/09/2013 21:35

To be honest, the first few times my DC moved, I thought it was trapped wind...it's not always easy to tell at first.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 21/09/2013 13:01

I didn't feel anything until after 20 weeks - felt totally left out, as EVERYONE else seemed to have movement at about 3 weeks Grin. Now I get it every day (25 weeks); I didn't believe it would go from nothing to daily/hourly so fast, but it does.

Don't forget, the baby has to whack an organ for you to feel it - there are no nerve endings in your womb lining. Perhaps your baby just has really good aim? Grin

It's hard, waiting, but it will be worth it.

Viasabat · 21/09/2013 14:30

I didn't feel anything until 26 weeks. I have an anterior placenta no one told me, I had to read my notes to find out myself.

Morien · 21/09/2013 14:35

Glad to see this thread as I'm 20 weeks today and not feeling anything. My bump keeps on growing though!

fluffyraggies · 21/09/2013 14:44

Don't worry OP.

I'm 22 weeks. At 19 weeks i posted a thread just like yours saying i hadn't felt anything. Loads of ladies posted to say don't worry, you will at 21/22/23 weeks.

I started feeling kicks about 5 days after i posted the thread Grin You will too - any day now.

Xmasbaby11 · 21/09/2013 22:19

With DD1 I didn't feel any movement until about 21 weeks.

Now 21 weeks with DD2 and only just getting movement.

BummyMummy77 · 22/09/2013 14:58

I was anterior too and didn't feel anything for AGES! I was desperate to feel him. Now I just wish he'd calm the hell down for a couple of hours so I could get some, what's it called again? Oh, yes, sleep!

Don't worry, it was about 24 weeks for me and even then only really faint.
