Possible live birth thread - pull up a pew

I am 30 weeks, been "brewing preeclampsia", popped in for blood pressure check at the hospital this morning (thurs) now been ambulanced to bigger hospital, had first steroid injection, waiting for second. Now on magnesium drip, will I or wont I meet my baby soon? BP still high despite drip for five hrs plus other meds.

I haven't even bought a scrap of cotton wool!

Those steroid injections bloody hurt don't they?! Have they told you the plan? Don't worry everything can be bought afterwards. How are you feeling? I remember feeling so ill with pre eclampsia.

They keep changing the plan. My head hurts sooooo much.BP going up. More magnesium then delivery in a few hrs I think hurts too much to think/type

Sorry to disappear, things went a bit frantic and I've been spaced out on morphine and trammadol. Baby was delivered in the early hrs by emergency c-section, I had to have a general anaesthetic and not been able to meet him yet as I am on an arterial line and magnesium drip. Hopefully will cwtch him soon Smile

Congratulations Smile how much did he weigh? I didn't see dd or ds for over 24 hours it's a weird feeling.

I would start a thread in premature birth as there will be lots of great support and advice re feeding, skin to skin (kangaroo care) and all the other things which are not considered with term babies Thanks

Congrats! Just wanted to pop in and say good luck.my Ds was born at 31weeks due to pre eclampsia, now a boisterous nearly 3yo. It's a hard time, but just spend as much time as you can do doing kangaroo care etc Hope all goes well xx

He weighs 2lb 11oz and is already off oxygen and breathing by himself. Had lots of cuddles, it's all very wierd. I was expecting a Xmas baby!!
