Hi All, I am 14 +5 and am barely showing, furthermore my bump hasn't grown in about two weeks when all was fine at my 12 week scan. This is my first pregnancy, is it normal not to show at all yet and should I be noticing changes in belly size from week to week? I have been keeping a photo diary of my tummy and i can see no change .. am i just being paranoid? Any advice very welcome. Thanks.

Hello
I don't think most bumps really "pop" untill 20 weeks +...then you really notice change week on week. Try Googling bump pictures, lots of women take pics evrey week so you can see...very little change around your stage (that will soon change!) so sure all is fine x

I didn't have a bump untill about 20 weeks, and even then it didn't really start to grow until about 28 weeks. Since then its grown quite noticeably every couple of weeks.

It is much, much too early to be worrying about your bump size. Some people aren't even showing at this stage.

PumpkinPie2013 · 19/09/2013 14:50

I didn't really start showing until after my 20 week scan Smile

Even now at 30 weeks my bump isn't huge but is measuring correct for dates so I know all is well Smile

Honestly don't worry Smile Some people have huge bumps others don't x

Don't worry at all! If you've had a bump at this point it is almost certainly caused by your stomach bloating a bit, which is normal in pregnancy. You might actually find the next few weeks your bump will shrink a bit before growing again and in a big way at that! My bump did exactly that, I was really scared when it shrank and started thinking the worst, but my bump is asleep in her cot at 7 months now.

You have a midwife appointment at 16 weeks I'm guessing? If it's still bothering you just mention it and I'm certain they'll get you feeling reassured. I think it's quite common.

Im 16+2 and havent got a bump :( im sad too! X

I've only been 'showing' for a couple of weeks, this is week 18.
Even then, my bump is really influenced by how bloated I am and tends to be smallest in the morning before I've eaten anything. It's still not hugely obvious I'm pregnant - I probably just look bloated!

I think the rate at which your bump shows is really individual. It can definitely take longer for a first pregnancy because the stomach muscles are generally tighter.
Hope you see it soon :)

Do a Google images search of uterus size by week. There are some great diagrams and it really shows that most of the bump at this stage is tummy bloating (at least it is for me, I'm 14+1) because the rest is still quite low down.

Like the others have said don't worry. I'm 16 weeks and have no bump. I feel a little curvier but that's it - no actual bump. X

Blondie276 · 19/09/2013 21:22

Honestly don't worry! I didn't show til about 20-22 weeks and couldn't tell before hand week by week any changes. I am now 30 weeks and am getting annoyed already with my now rather large bump so make the most of not havingone! We all want one and when it's here you realise what a hinderance it is lol! Panic not - everyone grows differently and then don't even start measuring you at mw appointments until 25 weeks
