Umbilical hernia

Hi everyone
Just wondered if anyone else is in the same boat as me... I have a umbilical hernia and I'm 28 weeks pregnant. It pretty much hurts constantly. I cant sleep or walk around for too long. The support belt I was given helps a bit but not enough to take the pain away. Physio and consultant can't do anything about it but I can't see how I can be left like this with another 12 weeks to go! The bigger my bump gets the bigger the hernia gets, surely I won't be left to go full term?! Any advice would help I'm so miserable Hmm

Hi Hun
I know exactly how you feel! I had one with my daughter and the pain is immense! And it keeps you awake, makes you feels sick and is a constant bother.
However the good news is that mine didn't last up until my due date, in face I probably got it about 28 wks like you are now, and I maybe had it for 4-6wks? Easily long enough of course! It did seems to fade away though as opposed to be there one day and go the next. One day I realised it wasn't hurting anymore!
I hope yours goes soon too. Lots of sympathy.
X

Hi thanks for reply glad its not only me! I got the hernia originally in my first pregnancy right at the end and was only very small. I didn't have any problems with it until I got pregnant again. It's been painful since I was about 8 weeks pregnant so I can't see it will go away :(
