Ectopic heartbeat palpitations high risk

I am 10 weeks pregnant with 3dc and just visited the Midwife for booking - Came out feeling upset as due to me suffering serve palpitations caused by an ectopic heartbeat they have put me as high risk - I had these in my last pregnancy and was seen by cardiologist, had a scan, 72 hour ECG night in hospital and was told these are fine and just annoying and are causing no damage to my heart etc.. said to the Midwife that if the Cardiologist said they were ok surely i could use the birthing suite rather than having to be on labour ward to which she said no as it was my heart and the strain of pregnancy and labour made it have to work harder - It never scared me before, but i came out feeling really worried about my heart and felt that if there was any risk to it or me that i shouldn't continue - I have an 24 hour ECG and will be seeing the cardio dr in November - anyone else suffer these?? please only positive replies as I am far to anxious for the negative ones x

I suffer palpitations too. They aren't so bad when I'm not pregnant, maybe once or twice a day. During both my last and current pregnancy they have been terrible. I've also had the scans, tape etc and been told they are fine, my heart is fine etc. I find I'm more tired now in the second trimester due to all the extra blood/enlarged heart etc, but other than being very annoying, they haven't caused me any huge problems. I haven't been placed at high risk, and have seen various doctors. I'm not in the UK though so maybe their guidelines are different.

Nice to know I'm not alone ... Just makes me worry unnecessarily because of the way they say no home births no birth suite and my only option is labour ward ... Must be because your in a different country .. It's nice they care but all it does is add to my worry x

You'll be fine. In the slimmest of slim possibilities that there is an issue, you will be right where you need to be. Where I am, home births are illegal and the are no birthing suites, so it's hospital or hospital for me! I actually found it more comforting than anxiety-inducing, as I was being monitored closely and any problems would have been picked up instantly. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
