About a week or so after conceiving, I ate some chocolate and had a funny metallic taste in my mouth. Then took a test as early as possible (ie after another week!)

Second and third time around I didn't really know because I was over thinking every symptom.

MisselthwaiteManor · 14/09/2013 21:17

I didn't know until a few days before my period and took a test. In hindsight though I came out in a full body rash a couple of days after conceiving which I think was connected, so if that ever happens again I will suspect pregnancy

princesscupcakemummyb · 14/09/2013 21:31

well i was actively trying very hard with the one im expecting now i knew about a week and a half after or i had a feeling at least reason behind that was i was on holiday and eating sausage with cheese yes cheese ? lol i thought nothing of it at the time but my husband pointed it out lol i did a test and got a faint pos so many days after that incident when i returned off holiday Grin

Tea1Sugar · 15/09/2013 07:37

My period was 2 days late! 8+2 and still don't feel pregnant.

pinkpeoniesplease · 15/09/2013 07:45

I thought I 'knew' every month whilst ttc and totally convinced myself! The month I actually was I thought 'no way' and only tested as wanted a glass of wine and had a test left over.
I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and do not feel at all pregnant despite seeing baby and heartbeat at 7 weeks...

Yogibear72 · 15/09/2013 10:16

Sometimes you think you are but you aren't. I was so convinced that I told my partner that night that I was 100% sure. I would not have said that to him unless I was certain. My period had been due that day but one day late was not unusual for me. In the morning I rushed down to boots and bought a pack of 3 tests. I back tracked a little and said ''oh well...maybe 50%" to my partner. I took a test and it was negative. I felt a fool. So I forgot about it. 4 days later still no period, and I was really late. So I did another test from the pack and found that I was pregnant! I was stunned. So although when I took the the first test I was only about 3 1/2 weeks (my cycle is quite short at 25days) l instinctively knew I was but rather than just knowing - I was totally certain.. I don't know how to describe the difference. By 6 weeks hormones were raging through me so strongly that I could not believe how anyone gets to that stage without knowing. But I know that they do!

BakingEating · 15/09/2013 20:49

I had a really distinctive prodding sensation a few days before I was due, then convinced myself I was mad and imagining things, then tested a few days after I was due and got the shock of my life!

Frizz1986 · 15/09/2013 21:17

I knew the week we concieved. I got lots of cramps which i never have before a period until the day before i am due and i had these the whole week.
I stayed with my best friend for a weekend visit and did the whole talking out loud telling her that i knew i wouldnt be pregnant this time but it was crazy as i was symptom spotting loads. I think i was trying to not get myself over excited. Then the next week i needed to pee loads (i try not to pee at work as i get stage fright lol)
Then the few days before i was due i got heartburn/indigestion (which i have never had before in my life) I had to get tablets and everything so i started to believe i could be, but again kept saying out loud to dh that i couldnt be as it was so fast. Low and behold 2 days later +ve test.

Mamabear12 · 15/09/2013 21:25

I suspected about a week before my p was due. I was extra tired and just kind of knew....but thought perhaps it might be like those who think they r when trying to conceive. Also, what r the chances of falling pregnant first try and still breastfeeding! I took a test a couple days before my p was due, it had a faint positive (sainsbury brand). Almost to the point it could be negative. Clear blue said negative. I sent a photo of the faint positive to my husband and he said, def negative!! Well, that negative is 34 weeks and moving around in my belly now :) I think it's hard to say though bc every women is different and every pregnancy is different! First time around no sickness or symptoms. This time, I had a tummy ache every day. It wasn't so bad, just had to eat all the time the first 15 weeks or so...okay okay, I still eat all the time :)

Anyway, if u have a hunch, take a test :)

RubyGoat · 15/09/2013 21:31

I just knew, about a week after conception. implantation pain for several days, nausea 24/7. Also dizziness. Didn't test until I was 3 days late though.

TKKW · 17/09/2013 12:02

I think about a week after conception. had sore boobies and would have been 2 weeks early for pms. i think i just knew and had better idea from having 1st child.
this time we wont be having any early private scans so waiting for midwife and scan appointments is hard!

Cocolikeschocolate · 17/09/2013 12:18

This sounds a bit odd but I knew the moment that he/she was conceived (currently 14 wk +4), I said to my husband "we've just made a baby" and he of course laughed this off - i just knew that something had happened in that moment some how. My breasts felt tender earlier than normal (which is usually the week leading up to my period), I was irritable with friends and family and I had a strange taste in my moth (that watery taste you get on a hangover when you think you're about to get sick but never do!). 3 days after my late period I took the test as a semi joke with my husband and there is was - my melodramatic ways were justified!

Flibbertyjibbet · 17/09/2013 12:31

I didn't just 'know' but with ds1 my nipples changed shape before my period was due. But I left the pregnancy test till I was 10 days late because we'd been trying for so long that I was almost scared of finding out, in case anything went wrong.

With ds2 I was lying on the bed and felt that sort of electrical buzzing feeling for about 30 seconds in my lower tummy. I had heard about some women experiencing this, and I looked down and said 'hello'. Sure enough the next day I thought I was going to faint while pushing ds1 pram and 10 days later got a bfp.

MrsPatMustard · 17/09/2013 15:48

I had a hunch about a week after we conceived as I had slight implantation bleeding. But it didn't feel real until the 12 week scan....

PrincessKitKat · 17/09/2013 17:52

About 5 days after - my norks felt like they were made of concrete & about to explode.

Still do. I'm now 10+2 Smile

Lj8893 · 17/09/2013 18:00

I was in boots and had this random urge to buy a pregnancy test. No major reason why, the thought hadnt crossed my mind at all untill that moment.

Even when I was poas I still wasent really thinking about it. So was a shock when that line appeared!

Trinpy · 17/09/2013 18:21

First time round I suspected at around 3weeks and was fairly certain by 3+4 so took a test. I had period cramps but no period and needed to wee more often than usual.

2nd time I was convinced before we even started trying that I would be pregnant this month and excitedly took a test - negative. I accepted that I wasn't pregnant and bought expensive ovulation tests for next month. A week later still no period so I took another test expecting it to be negative - couldn't believe it when a line appeared. I was only 3+3 though, so really early!

elcranko · 17/09/2013 21:01

I got my BFP at 3+4 but knew a couple of days before that as everything smelt really strong from far away (coffee, cigarette smoke, cleaning products etc) plus I felt really weepy and emotional. Got a faint line at 3+4 on a cheapie, it was stronger the following day so I got a digi test- pregnant!

InTheFace · 17/09/2013 21:11

No one believes me when I say this, but I knew within 4 days of conception. Tingling boobs, abdomen all weird in a way I'd never experienced before...turned out to be my 18mo PFB.

Fmshields · 17/09/2013 21:20

I suspected 3 days after, had a funny feeling in my tummy, and had a metallic taste in my mouth. I just had a feeling, took a test 2 weeks later and BFP!!

ZingWantsCake · 17/09/2013 21:32

with 2 of them I knew the next day.

the others I knew by 6 weeks

chillisbopper · 17/09/2013 22:47

I knew about a week after, 2 weeks before I was due my period. I went to go and visit my mum for Mother's Day and the next evening when DH picked me up at the train station I said in the car I thought I was...I'd been symptom spotting, I waited the 2 weeks though and the first day I was due on bought cheap tests from B&M (thinking I'd been wrong in the past and didn't want to waste money) 3 BFPs later we went to buy clear blue just to be absolutely certain. 7 tests and 5 scans later i'm 29+4 now and still sometimes think "i cant believe we're having a baby!!" and he's due end of November lol Grin

BookTart · 18/09/2013 08:16

I didn't know until I was two days late and took a test, but it made sense of spending the previous day sitting indoors being irrationally furious with everything my DP did Grin

katebakes · 18/09/2013 15:17

I didn't feel any physically different but I just 'knew' and told the women at the council office when paying my council tax. I just blurted it out and then when I left I thought 'what's wrong with me? Why did I say that?' I took a test 15 mins later and it was positive!

I was so happy :)

I'm now 31 + 3 days and we can't wait to meet him :)

Emilycee · 18/09/2013 15:26

Aroubd 3/4 days after ovulation I have sore boobs and a grumbly/bubbly/ crampy tummy... Then a week later I had a metallic taste in my throat, Did a test 1 weeks later and was BFP!
