Hi

I am only 5.5 weeks pregnant but already feel like I'm gaining weight. My clothes still fit but are getting tight and I can see the bloating in my face, hands, waist etc. is this normal?

I am panicking that I will gain loads and could end up being dangerous for the baby. I am trying to eat healthy but I am craving sugar which makes it hard. I am constantly thirsty too and am drinking loads, again is this normal? Thanks!

Ps no way am I stepping on the scales so don't know how much I've put on but I would def say at least 2-3lbs which feels like a stone!

I bloated out a lot when I was roughly 5 or 6 weeks buut that was all it seemed to be was just bloat. A few weeks after that it went down and I was still fitting In my clothes til 12-14 weeks. Don't panic too much, it will even out eventually, I think in first trimester you retain a lot of water due to the rush of hormones.

Congratulations Flowers

Thanks, it's reassuring to know its relatively normal. Will just keep trying to eat healthy when hungry (which is pretty much the whole time lol!)

Yes it was one of the first signs before I even got my bfp, I just couldn't stop eating. It does ease off tho, around week 8 the nausea kicked in (no sickness luckily) so for a few weeks I was off my food a bit, now 23 wks and I can't stop eating again Blush

Yeh I probably shouldn't be complaining as I'm sure the ms will kick in soon lol. 23 weeks, how exciting! I can't wait to get past 12 weeks, just trying to take it week by week. It's so hard trying to relax and not get too excited/worried.
Hope the rest of ur pregnancy goes well :)

I just thought i'd add that i experienced this early on too and lots of people were commenting about how i had a bump already - it turned out to be bloating and it disappeared after a few weeks. I'm now 17 weeks and have an actual bump so try not to worry - it doesn't mean you'll have a massive baby or anything like that it's just all the changes going on in your body x

I'm 9 weeks and I've lost about 5 pounds but that's because I have had really bad sickness. But weight gain is normal it could be more bloating. Bloating is about the only symptom I don't have lol. My boobs have grown a bit and there already massive to start off with lol. Try not to worry every lady is different x :)
