How to get a 'fitness to fly' certificate/letter

Has anyone experience of this? Want to fly to Italy at 32 weeks, back at 34 (from London).

can you get it from your GP, and do they charge?

any tips appreciated..

I got mine from my GP and no charges. I have flown in week 38 wihtout a certificate, just with a big coat so you might not need it. Mind you, big coat a bit suspicious in summer....

Just ask your GP - but each airline is different, so a big coat isn't a bad idea at all. I got stopped at 32 weeks with easyjet and they held the plane up whilst my GP faxed a letter across - utterly humiliating, esp. as rules are something more like 34 weeks...

i got mine off my GP and he didnt charge me anything.

My midwife just wrote it into my notes.

As I recall, you won't be able to get travel insurance to cover you after 32 weeks. I know various MNers have travelled abroad just using the E111 (or whatever it's called now) but wanted to make you aware of that.
