Feeling blue in first trimester

It may be the constant sickness and utter exhaustion but I feel a bit down and at times ambivalent about this pregnancy.

I always relished weekends, nice food and wine and a good film. Now I can't enjoy food/wine and I am zonked by 9pm. My sex life has disappeared.

I am so lucky to be expecting again and this baby was planned/wanted but I wondered if others have felt this way.

I'm 9 weeks btw.

Hello,

I'm 11wks+4 and I've had my ups and downs too. Exhaustion was at its worst for me between weeks 9-10 and I was just knackered and crying all the time. Then the exhaustion wore off and sickness kicked in. Thankfully the sickness has eased now but now I'm feeling tired all the time again. I've been generally quite unwell during my pregnancy and have also had two bleeds. Both of these factors mean I haven't been at work for over 2 weeks but I'm starting back next week.

I've had low points and the only thing that has stopped me doubting the choice we made was to look at the scan photos we have - the only good things to come from early bleeding. I appreciate you don't have that luxury though so just keep reminding yourself why you're doing it. your dating scan probably feels like it is ages away but stay focused on that because the minute you see your little baby moving away, waving its arms and legs everywhere, you won't care how crap you have been feeling x x

Thanks Writer. Yes I had early scan last time and I think that helped. I'm sure you're right. When I first got my bfp I was so happy and excited. It was just when the symptoms kicked in.

Ditto. I keep crying. Its utterly depressing. I keep saying things like I wish I could just be sedated and reawoken after 12 weeks. I'm finding it hard to enjoy this baby because it is keeping me from my son, as bed ridden pretty much. Which is awful because it is a very wanted baby. I just can't wait til things turn about but I hate feeling like I'm just waiting for each day to end so I'm one closer to feeling better and living life again :(

I'm now 14+4 and was exactly the same until I had my 12 week scan. I had severe sickness from 6 weeks, was put on cyclizine anti sickness tablets, if you are constantly sick I'd definitely reccommend them. Now been taken off these as you're not allowed them in your 2nd trimester. Don't feel as sick but it is so hard. Hopefully your scan will cheer you up a little bit, i found it so hard for the first 12 weeks. Hope you feel yourself soon Smile
