I have onset of aneamia and need food advice

Anyone know if I can eat some ice cream,(need a treat tonight as have had bad day), or will it stop the iron tablets absorbing,(as read calcium prevents absorbtion), ?Ive poured out my OJ to take my pill after ?? I have nasty acid so all this vit c stuff is killing me, even with my ranitadine.

I don't think it will make much difference especially if you are upping your vit c - hope you feel better soon.

would check with GP, but you need to eat calcium some time! otherwise that causes other probs.

I am not a medical person, but would imagine if you take your iron tabs in the morning with brekkie and plenty of fruit containing vit c, then eat something with milk/cheese later in the afternoon or evening, that the iron tabs would have time to absorb..

but check with doc...

Is it normal to feel sick as a dog on ferrous and not want to eat ??? Im feeling worse since starting the pills a few days ago. Ive only had a small slice of toast so far and keep heaving??

After all that ,cant even face ice cream!

melsy ice cream is fine as long as it isnt mr whippy one.

ferrous sulphate me feel awful in both pregnancies and will probably be chucked onto it again this time.
