I have no idea how many weeks pregnant I am!! Breastfeeding 15 month old and haven't had a period for 2 years

So I am breastfeeding my gorgeous 15 month old baby and my period never came back. Same thing happened with my oldest child. I didn't get a period until about 3 months after he was completely weaned. So anyway I started feeling nauseaus about a week ago and a few days ago I realised my boobs were quite tender so I decided to take a test. It was just one of those cheap Asda tests but it was positive. I was shocked! I decided to buy one of the clearblue digital tests and it says it is more than 3 weeks since conception meaning 5+ weeks pregnant. I feel really nauseaus today and when I think back I can remember feeling quite tired over the last few weeks and losing my appetite a bit. I have contacted the midwives who said they will contact me with an appointment in the next 8 days. I wonder how long it will take for them to arrange a scan as I assume this is the only way the pregnancy can be dated. Only me and my partner know as we don't want to tell anyone till 12 weeks but I feel so miserable and sick ??

Poor you it's horrible isn't it! My now 36 week bump was exactly the same.... No period & a 13 month old, mw didn't contact me for ages and then at my appt she used a Doppler as sgd said she would hear a hb from about 10 weeks. I didn't get a scan until a few weeks later and was exactly 14 weeks.... Good luck getting an earlier scan! Hope you feel better soon

could you pay for a private scan?they probably wont book you for a scan til the usualy 12 week one if you are around 5 weeks,they dont usually give out scans jst because your not sure,the same happened to me.

Same here although DS was a bit older. I had a dating scan as it could have been anywhere from 5 weeks to 25!

This happened to me, I self referred to the hospital and was booked in within a week, scan the following week. I was 12 weeks pregnant with dc3. I am now 20 weeks, still breastfeeding dd2 (18 months), just found out today I am having a boy :)
