I heard the baby's heartbeat at midwife appt last week but I'm still terrified. I'm scared they'll discover the baby's poorly or that the heartbeat has stopped :(
I just want to get it over and done with.

Quite natural to worry. Even with my second I was still heard to say 'there IS a baby in there!' you in the fortunate position that you've already heard the heartbeat, which is the best indicator.
Enjoy the scan and prepare for the sense of wonder when your eyes show you what your ears already know...

I'm assuming you had a scan at 12-13 weeks? The 20 week one is amazing as it looks just like a baby as opposed to a bean... Are you finding out the sex? Focus on that question instead to calm yourself a little?

Breathe... I had my 20 week scan on Tuesday. I had a mmc last February so i take nothing for granted.

I was seriously stressed going into the scan but every thing was fine & i found out its a little girl...Im still smiling Im so relieved & delighted i have another daughter.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Baby was naughty and wouldn't uncurl so everything else came back normal except I have to go back in 4 weeks for a rescan just to check the spine. Absolutely no markers of any sort though so the sonographer told me the chance of something being wrong is low. And we found out we're having a boy!!! Grin
