to ask my MW for a sweep?

I'm 39+4 and have been having contractions every night for the past 3 nights and then they just stop. Not painful enough to have come to anything but enough to stop me from getting much sleep and I'm shattered. I don't know how I'll get through labour if this carries on much longer.

No harm in asking. I was given one by the obstetrician at 38+1, it worked for me. Don't worry about having energy to get through labour, you will do it, your body is capable of wonderful things. My DS was born 53 hours after waters breaking and contractions starting, I still had a bit of energy and the adrenaline kicks in to get you through. You're almost there, you'll get to meet your precious baby soon
