2 weeks out on early scan

So I had an early scan today following a little bleeding last week. The good thing was the sonographer found the heartbeat easily. But she did confuse me, she said that the CRL was only 3.3mm - 5ish weeks. There was a clear yolk sac and fetal pole. That means that I got a positive test before I was pregnant and the clear blue digital test gave me 1-2 weeks and 3+ weeks at the wrong times.

Obviously I'm dwelling on it and she really wasn't worried at all!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I was put back a week and a half at an early scan, meaning now, I have no idea when I ovulated! I guess you just never know when you ovulated, how long the sperm was hanging round etc...

I'm now 35+3 (apparently!) and baby if growing great.

Congratulations!

I was put back a week and 2 days at an early scan but I didn't take notice if it, as I've read that the early scan measurements can be inaccurate. Had my dating scan and it was on point with my original estimate!

Thank you for your reassurance. I'm sure I wasn't this paranoid with DD!

I haven't had a scan yet but I'm around 8 weeks nearly 9 yet mid wife says I'm only 7 ,my last period was on the 16 July so I'm slightly confused. I hope they don't put me back at the scan. This rate ill off had a positive preganacy text a month before I was even pregnanat lol

A retroverted uterus does this! It is easy to be measuring up to2 weeks behind with a tilted uterus. By 12 weeks the uterus rights itself, as the uterus comes out above the pelvic brim.

Also early scans are very easy for mis measurements, measuring in mm makes it very easy for errors, that is why there is a +- 3 day error, so a week out at an early scan is less important than seeing a strong heartbeat.

Congratulations.

I am Confused if you mean it is puttig you ealier or later but this may explain things:
You have to add two weeks for your dates. Pregnancy tests are based on conception. Hospital dates are Based on first day of last period (assuming you have 28 day cycle)
So if test says 3 weeks you are dated at 5 weeks. You did only really conceive 3 weeks ago and were not actually pregnant for first 2 weeks.

The scan put me at 5 weeks but my lmp would be 7 weeks. The clearblue indicator said +3 weeks when I was just over 5 weeks - so good for my lmp. So just the scan that doesn't agree. But I'm happy with the advice everyone has said and a lot more relaxed now.
