Second births...

Hi ladies!

Just a quick question really. My DS was born at 37+6 and am now pregnant with my second baby.

Just wondering if your first was early was your second early too? I'm hoping she arrives 2 weeks early like her brother and makes an appearance before Christmas.

I only have one ds who arrived at 36+2, and I am wondering the same thing, keen for dc2 to stay put until 37-40 weeks, I ended up being induced as waters broke but nothing happened so I was induced induced so I would really like things to happen without all the intervention etc.

My first was 5 weeks early and was born in 5 hours and my second was 3 weeks early and born in 7 hrs

my midwife tells me your body tends to follow a trend i.e i went over due with my 1st and went 1 week over due with dc2 now expecting dc3 and hoping for a miracle lol

DS born at 39+5, DD at 40+6. Was not impressed to go overdue when midwife had told me she'd likely be early. The expectation made every one of those 6 days feel like a year!

Dd1 was born at 39 weeks precisely and dd2 at 39+3.
At my booking appt with dc3 the mw said 'so you have your babies at 39 weeks then' like she expects this one to follow the pattern.
I have another 30 weeks to go to find out though.

My first was born at 38+3 and I had to push for 2.5 hours. My second was born at 40+12 (I was climbing the walls by the end with impatience, I was not anticipating being pregnant for almost a month longer 2nd time round) and was out in three contractions (on my bathroom floor as it happens; a home birth had not been planned!)

39+1 and then a surprise 34+3! Get your bags packed early, just in case! :)

DD1 was 39+4, DD2 was 36+5. I don't think you can really predict though, I know lots of people who have had one early and one overdue.

Ds1 was 36+4 ds2 was 39. Not sure it always follows a pattern.

My first was a week early and the second was practically on the due date. Second time was not easier unfortunately, I think I had expectations that it would be and wasn't mentally prepared for it to be the same or worse and that probably made it worse!
Hope all goes well. For most people it is apparently easier 2nd time!

Sorry to disappoint, but not in my experience! DD was bang on 37 weeks and a very quick labour. I'm currently 41+2 and still waiting. Grr. I've found being overdue harder to deal with because I was so prepared for an early arrival this time to. Good luck to you!

Don't want to burst the bubble BUT DD1 born at 36 weeks. DD2born 40 +5 after 2 sweeps.

Might add though, labour much more manageable and shorted with DD2.

I'm of the opinion that nothing follows a pattern when it comes to pregnancy, labour, childbirth. Mine have been progressively more overdue but I'm sincerely hoping this one isn't as it's due Christmas! A little earlier would be lovely, thanks!
