Hospital admission for transverse baby?

So baby is still transverse, has now been since before 28 week appointment, I'm now nearing 36 weeks. Yes I know they can still turn and I'm doing as many of the spinning babies positions as I can, but I stupidly went to dr google and discovered a fair few websites and other forums where it was mentioned that due to the risk of cord prolapse, women with transverse babies after 37 weeks were hospitalised until c sections at 39 weeks. This hasn't been mentioned by my midwife, although she has said that if the baby is still transverse at my next appointment that I'll be sent for a scan and a consultant would see me to discuss a c section. She did also warn me that waters going or contractions starting meant I had to rush in, but that's it. Can anyone tell me if they still do admissions at 37 weeks to be on the safe side?
Thanks

It probably depends on your Trust, but I had a transverse baby, was sent for scan at 37w and was admitted on the spot. Ended up with a section at 38w, which was earlier than expected, but there was some concern over his heart rate. All was fine, but it was very frustrating being in hospital for a week for no apparent reason!

Good luck Smile

My friend went for a scan at 36 weeks and was found to be traverse and was admitted on the spot till her c-section at 38 weeks. It'll pass quicker than you think, and you'll end up the midwives favourite cuz you're like a permanent fixture!!

Thanks for your replies. I genuinely hadn't realised that this might happen. It's made me think about getting myself a bit organised. This is DC2 and I went really overdue last time so in my head baby was still a long way off. Fingers crossed baby turns or I can stay at home as we are only 5 min drive to the hospital. Glad you both were safe deliveries, that's the main thing.

My ds was transverse but no one noticed (midwife, trainee midwife and two registrars) until my waters broke and dh was arguing with them about not being induced so they scanned me. I had a c-section about half an hour later Grin

I am 30 weeks and baby currently transverse. Still time to move so fingers crossed that happens but am already worrying. Good luck!
