Anybody not get Braxton Hicks?

I'm 34 weeks and haven't had any sort of twinges or Braxton hicks at all... Just wondering of this means my body is far from ready for labour or whether some people just don't get them at all?? All my pg friends (all further behind than me) keep talking about having had them and keep seeing posts on here from people having then from 24+ weeks.... Is Anyone out there that didn't get Braxton hicks with their pregnancies?

Apparently everyone gets them but not everyone feels them. I never felt them at all.

DS1 was born at 40+1 and DS2 at 39+5

bananastar · 08/09/2013 14:05

I've never had them either and I'm 38+2 now. Hopefully it's a good omen for the birth and I won't feel that either!

roofio87 · 08/09/2013 14:08

I was feeling the very same as you until yesterday, at 36+1 they started!! but hadn't had anything until then!!

armsandtheman · 08/09/2013 14:11

I gave birth at 36+4 and didn't have any. Just contractions then birth.

neversleepagain · 08/09/2013 14:15

If I had them I never felt them.

Patilla · 08/09/2013 14:18

I didn't have/feel them.

Afraid to say that I very much did feel the contractions with DS.

Though DD was a breeze with ELCS so no idea if I would have has them with her.

Ra88 · 08/09/2013 14:39

I didn't with my dd

Sleepthief · 08/09/2013 17:04

I didn't get any with DC1 and he arrived bang on 39 weeks. (Now on DC4 and been getting them on and off since wk17 - oof! be careful what you wish for Wink

rainbowfeet · 08/09/2013 17:09

I can't remember having them with dd1 aged 10.. I was induced at 8 days over, didn't progress & ended up with a c section.. Dd2 was an elc at 34 weeks no Braxton hicks put that down to being early.
Ds was elc at 39 weeks no Braxton hicks either... Don't think my body was designed for labour & birth!!!

mustardtomango · 08/09/2013 22:28

Me! Apparently not everyone does. I'm 32 weeks

Pusspuss1 · 08/09/2013 22:31

I never felt any, and nor did my mum or MIL! Everyone in my NCT class seemed to have them though...

AllBellyandBoobs · 08/09/2013 22:33

I never felt any BH but when I was induced at 40+8 the monitor showed I was having contractions and yet I was blissfully unaware

nancerama · 08/09/2013 22:34

I didn't think I had any, but was in for monitoring every couple of days from 41-43 weeks when I went overdue. They were showing on the monitor trace, but I felt nothing, even when it was pointed out to me.

pmgkt · 08/09/2013 22:40

Allbelly I was the same. My dh kept telling me I was having one but I knew nothing about it, for 36 hours,

elQuintoConyo · 08/09/2013 22:40

Bananastar I love your optimism Grin

I never had a twinge, even when I went in for monitoring at 40wks/41wks and 41+2.

DS arrived 40+12.

Bloodsocks · 08/09/2013 22:43

Never felt as much as a twinge until contractions at 40 + 11.

Excited85 · 09/09/2013 06:36

Oh good, glad it's not just me then! Thanks ladies :-)
