I am 36, expecting 3rd. My other 2 will be 7 and 9 when s/he is born. I am only 11 weeks but look like 16 ! Have other people had similar experience? Feeling very sick too- not like on other two.

Also pregnant with no3 & felt horrifically sick and tired till 13 weeks. Now 20 weeks and look term Sad. But don't feel sick Grin

Wonder77 · 06/09/2013 20:00

That's good to hear ( about sickness) - think I need to prepare myself for being big then! Friends are convinced twins because I'm so sick and wasn't on last two!!

Oh yes....the early (and rapidly expanding!) bump with DC3 has been quite a shock to me too!

Wonder77 · 07/09/2013 06:28

Ok thanks comfy. Do you feel similar to your last 2 pregnancies or different?

I am now 33 weeks and people look at me like I am mad when I say I still have 7 weeks to go I feel massive too can't do anything also dc3 my other 2 are 9 and 11 got sizing scan at 36 weeks due to ds being big and I am small and scared to go through that again x

Wonder77 · 07/09/2013 06:53

Thanks Lands. Hope your sizing scan turns out ok. You have a big gap too- I'm really wondering what it's going to be like having 3rd baby with older ones. Hope it's going to be easier as they are both ,ore independent!!! We will see.

That's my thought :) my two r so excited hoping it stays that way once baby is here my dd loves babies but think they will both be very helpful thanks and good luck x

Andanotherthing123 · 07/09/2013 08:14

Me too-I still can't get over over how much bigger my bump is third time round. Does mean people offer me seats and hold open doors etc even though I'm only 18 weeks, so that's a bonus!

Fairypants · 07/09/2013 08:26

I'm struggling to hide it already and I'm only 8 weeks! I was tiny with the others but I was also much younger (they are 15 and nearly 11) so will have lost muscle tone anyway.
I feel much less sick and more tired this time - DH thinks that means it is a boy.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 07/09/2013 08:37

16 weeks here, and I look at least 24!! Much sicker than both previous pregnancies, and one of them WAS twins!

namechanger1979 · 07/09/2013 08:44

I am 23 wks with dc4. I look at least 30 weeks plus had to take medication for sickness for the first time. Everyone said that must meam its a girl(i have 3 boys). However its another boy!

Peacenquiet2 · 07/09/2013 10:31

Hhhmmmm, ive been wondering about this as im on dc3 and had scan thur, was 13 weeks and all was well. But as yet i have no bump whatsoever and am still wearing my skinny jeans fastened. If i hadnt had scan id be worried!
But seems im a minority. Dont get me wrong im quite happy to still be able to hide it as not telling work and some friends yet, but i did expect with dc3 i would have bloomed earlier.
Watch this space, ile prob be popping by next week!

Wonder77 · 07/09/2013 23:36

Thanks. At least I know I'm not the only one with an early expanding bump!

Same here, had an undeniable bump from around 8w on! Now 22w and about the same size as I was at 30w with my second (compared pics Wink).
Sickness wise it hasn't been too bad - I had been horribly sick with #2, but this time it was more like with my first; all day nausea until 13 weeks but no vomiting.
I do feel a lot more tired and exhausted this time though! Might have to do with chasing after a 4yo and a 2yo all day Grin

My other DSs are 11 and 8, will be 12 and 9 when the baby arrives. I'm 39 (and will still be 39 when the baby arrives Smile). I think age and number of children have contributed to my massiveness, but on the other hand I was only a size 10 when I got pregnant and a regular gym goer, so perhaps the body should have had time to recover? However, it seems my body has gone "ah pregnancy, we know what to do with this - fatness and exhaustion!" Never mind, I feel like I've won the lottery being pregnant again anyway, so I don't mind about the bump (and huge thighs, and bingo wings, and chubby face, sigh).

On the plus side, I think a big age gap like some of us on this thread will have will be brilliant. It will be like being a first time mum in terms of having lots of time to spend with the baby, but none of the stress of being a first time mum because in theory you know what you're doing! Also, extra pairs of hands to cuddle/ entertain the little one whilst cooking and other jobs get done. Please no-one tell me I'm living in la la land!

Wonder77 · 08/09/2013 20:19

I'm hoping for the same comfy!

LandsN · 08/09/2013 20:55

I hope not comfy I have the same age gap and I am hoping the same :) my dd is such a mummy to any baby just hope that doesn't change when it's 24/7 and she is sharing a room in a years time lol x

Fairypants · 09/09/2013 07:12

I'm hoping the same comfy - dd2 (10) is so excited at the prospect of learning to change a nappy and keeps checking she will actually be allowed to do it!! Dd1 (15) says I get 1 nappy change, use it wisely! But she is expecting to to babysitting duty so all is not lost.

kitkatchunky · 09/09/2013 10:53

I am so glad I am not alone, I was/am pretty fit and 'toned' however I am 6 weeks today with my DC2 6 years after my first and look more 16+ weeks to the point I am unable to hide it and have told my work!!! Today I am sat in my office with my trousers undone, I refuse to wear maternity clothes until at the earliest 12 weeks...lots of swims and jogs for me.

Good luck with your pregnancies ladies Grin

rushka · 13/09/2013 11:21

Just to chip in - I, too, am on third preg and definitely have had a rapidly expanding bump from early on! I think your body just remembers what it's meant to look like so pops straight out - and my tum was reasonably flat, i like to think!

I think people around you will be less surprised about it than you! Most of my friends hadn't noticed I was preggers till I told them at 12 weeks, and I really thought I was so humungous that anyone would have guessed.

Wonder77 · 14/09/2013 07:24

Does seem that is the way Russia. And I do think you're right- we feel bigger than we look !
