I miss wearing my wedding ring and it is going to be to cool for sandals soon.

My friend said she swelled after birth even more than before. Don't know if that I due to epidural?

Thank you

Wow I didn't realise that could happen! I haven't worn a wedding ring for months...interested to hear people's answers.

I asked my Mum when I'll feel physically 'normal' and she said around 6 weeks after birth. I can't imagine BF will allow me to feel normal but I'll see :-)

A week, maybe less. I remember waking up one morning and being able to see my ankle bones, I'd missed them!

Ankle bones... What are they I wonder ? Wink

Thank you!!

About a week or so for initial swelling to settle. By 6 weeks you will start feeling a lot more normal again. I didnt feel completely back to normal until after i'd finished breastfeeding, had lost most the baby weight and could lie on my tummy (about 6 months).

In the short term you could put your wedding ring on a necklace/chain so you are still wearing it. Or buy a cheap fake one in a bigger size until it fits again.

I've been told that it can take up to 6 weeks for all the swelling to down... I was quite disappointed as I've not seen my ankles for 14 weeks now and my feet and legs look like they belong to an elephant. I was hoping that it would only take a week to settle down but sadly this doesn't seem to be the case.

I didn't swell at all during my pregnancy, but developed elephant fingers after I gave birth. Settled down after a week or so but it was a REAL shock. I guess all that extra fluid has to go somewhere...

I didn't swell during pregnancy either but immediately after birth all the fluid seem to go to my lower legs and disappeared as suddenly as it arrived after a week. Was disconcerting to find your knees and ankles had disappeared!

Took me about 4-6 weeks, but I ended up on a drip due to dehydration+transfusion... Was ALOT more swollen postnatal than pre!

Grimmest thing was the night sweats for a few weeks after as my body dumped all of the excess fluid...
Waking up feeling (and looking) like someone had thrown a bucket of water at me in the night!
Confused
