What does paraabdominally mean?

It's hard without context, but "para" normally means across, so I would guess it means across the stomach.

Ahh right it's in my maternity notes after seeing consultant yesterday. Says paraabdominally 4/5 engaged.

Can anybody help? I'm being induced tomorrow, don't know if this is favourable or not

It just means the comsultant has felt your stomach and the. Baby is 4/5 engaged. Nothing to worry about, just a description of the examination
