No Jess, I sympathise. I had a bleed at 7wk+5 and 3 days ago I had another one, I'm now just over 10wks. I'm having a scan on Wednesday to check that everything is ok and until then I'm on bed rest.

I'm sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages, no wonder you are so worried. I would hope that given your history they would send you for another scan.

I hope everything turns out ok and that your GP gets back in touch soon x x

overthemill · 02/09/2013 09:53

i'm so sorry, it's really scary when this happens. hopefully GP can reassure you but it happened to me (after I'd had a previous early mc) and I did keep the baby. My GP advised rest for a few days and try not to worry. Of course I did worry but it was ok in the end. I really yhope its ok for you too

FredFlintstonesSister · 02/09/2013 09:53

Do you have an emergency number for midwife? If not, ask GP to give you it. It could be absolutely nothing - my sister had 2 minor bleeds about 9 weeks and 12 weeks and her daughter is now 6 months. That said, always get it checked out.

jessandalfie · 02/09/2013 10:01

The gp has just rang me an told me to give epu a call an see if they will give me another scan today, I would love to be able to go back to bed and rest but my son won't allow that lol. I'm hoping its nothing to worry about :( very scared, off to ring epu now

Writerwannabe83 · 02/09/2013 10:10

Good luck with the EPU - when I rang mine they were very reassuring and helpful. Admittedly they couldn't give me a scanning date for 5 days, which isn't ideal, but I don't think they were too concerned about me as my blood was brown/old blood.

Best of luck and be pushy for a scan x x

jessandalfie · 02/09/2013 10:19

I think I'm more concerned because my blood is red. Only good thing is that its not a lot of blood its only when I wipe myself none in my underwear. Left an answer phone message to epu, so hopefully they will be in touch soon

Definitely focus on the positives - are you having any stomach aches or cramps?

jessandalfie · 02/09/2013 10:27

No I havnt been getting any cramps, thankfully. I hate thinking the worst trying to stay as positive as I can :)

Writerwannabe83 · 03/09/2013 07:45

How are you today Jess? X

jessandalfie · 03/09/2013 08:57

A lot better the bleeding has stopped. Was in agony with cramps last night but they have gone, epu never contacted me y.day so my midwife is ringing them today to get me an appointment just to be safe x

Writerwannabe83 · 03/09/2013 08:59

I'm glad tour midwife is ringing for you - that's really bad that they didn't call you back!!

I've got my scan tomorrow, I'm still having the odd twinge and stomach ache and there was some brown stringy mucusy stuff on the toilet paper this morning but I'm still trying my hardest to stay positive x

jessandalfie · 03/09/2013 09:09

Glad you have got a scan tommorow the wait is horrible isn't it. How many weeks are u? Hope everything goes ok for you. Yes I was very shocked that they never even bothered to call me I ended up having to walk to where my local midwife is based (while in pain) still no joy, then half 8 last night the midwife phoned me and told me she would contact them for me today. So fingers crossed I get a call from them

I'm 10wks+3 days.

I had my first episode of bleeding at 7wks+6 days. I saw my doctor at 2pm the same afternoon it started and he rang one of the local EAPU and I had my scan first thing the next morning. So I'm a little bit Hmm that I've had to wait 5 days this time round!

I just phoned my big boss, who is absolutely lovely, and explained it all to her. She was brilliant and has told me in no circumstances am I to go back to work this week!! She said I can even have a month off and she won't care, she said my baby is what is the most important. It helps knowing I have that support from work and that I'm under no pressure.

The whole thing is a nightmare - I hope you get your scan today or at least tomorrow x

IBelieveInPink · 03/09/2013 09:43

Just saw this and wanted to post - jess I was same as you (ish) pregnant after 2 miscarriages, then had 12 week scan and all was good, then 3 days later had a big bleed (clots n all). Went to a and e (nhs direct told me to!) and after 5 hour wait got scanned to see baby sleeping through the drama very peacefully! Now 29 and half weeks :)
Really hope all goes okay for you both - and if you want to join us on the pg after mc thread, you are very welcome. We are all equally batshit crazy stressed, so is nice to be among friends!

jessandalfie · 03/09/2013 09:53

So u have had a wait havnt ya. I'm really praying everything goes ok for you. Keep me updated an I will do the same :) xx

Did you hear from your midwife Jess?

jessandalfie · 03/09/2013 19:15

Yeah she rang me this afternoon she isn't gonna send me for a scan becoz there's no blood anymore but if I bleed again to give her a call, didn't seem to worried about the cramps. So ill guess there's nothing I can do. What time is your scan tomoz? X

OP posts:
Writerwannabe83 · 03/09/2013 19:17

Well I suppose it's reassuring that she wasn't concerned and hopefully you won't have any more bleeding Smile

My scan is at 09.40am - feeling a little bit nervous...

Summersun1983 · 03/09/2013 19:28

Hi Jess
I have had two mcs, I am now 21 weeks pregnant. I had my 12 week scan and all was fine then at 14 weeks I had a very small bleed (only in wipeing) I went to a&e as I was so worried and they scanned me, baby was fine and no sign of why the bleed happened. The doc said that the fact that I had morning sickness then a healthy baby at 12 weeks was really positive and he expected scan to be ok which it was.
I had my 20 week scan last week which showed baby all ok but I have a low line placenta which could have been the reason for the bleed.
I guess what I am tring to say is that I have had very similar to you but everything is ok. Try to be positive, if it happens again go to a&e they might be more helpful

Xxx

jessandalfie · 03/09/2013 19:28

Atleast its an early scan, nothing worse than an afternoon appointment. I'm not as worried anymore just hoping for a easy pregnancy now fingers crossed

Thanks for your comment summersun, glad to hear everythings going well now. And thanks for your advice I will try a+e next time (hopefully there isn't a next time though lol) iv only got 3 weeks till my 3d scan to find out what I'm having because I'm 2 excited to know lol. So atleast I don't have to wait till 20 weeks for next scan

jessandalfie · 04/09/2013 09:42

Hi writerwannabe83 how you feeling? How did your scan go? X

OP posts:
Writerwannabe83 · 04/09/2013 11:27

Scan went really well - as soon as the Midwife put her little machine on me a very active and wiggly baby appeared!! It was amazing to see all its little arms and legs moving! My husband decided last minute to dash out of work and managed to make it onto the EPAU just as I was being called in. We couldn't believe the difference between the blob we saw at 3 weeks ago and the baby we saw today. My husband had tears in his eyes. It was just such a lovely moment x x

jessandalfie · 04/09/2013 15:40

Aww fantastic made up for you glad everything went well. All the best for the rest of your pregnancy xxxx
