Im having trouble thinking of a middle name for a boy to go with Max. Our surname is one syllable also.
Any suggestions will be greratly appreciated! Smile

The middle name for our DD was simply my first name - would that work with your DP's name?

SoupDragon · 19/06/2006 11:44

I'd go for something with more than one syllable then. And no S sounds at the start.

tortoiseshell · 19/06/2006 11:46

Agree, you need more than one syllable - what about something like William, Oliver, Benjamin, Christopher?

JoolsToo · 19/06/2006 11:47

if you can't think of one you like ask yourself do you really need one?

I don't have a middle name and can't say I miss it!

otoh all my 3 have middle names and ds1 has 2!

SoupDragon · 19/06/2006 11:48

You need a middle name to tell your children off. Mine have 2 heach and depending how many names are used, they know how naughty they're been :o

I keep thinking of Alexander.

I think a short first-and-surname combo sounds good with a two-syllable middle name - Edward springs immediately to mind, but others of that ilk (Thomas, Daniel, David, Andrew, Harry) work just as well.

Would avoid single syllables (eg Max Jack), or anything too long (Max Christopher, Max Alexander), although for some reason Max Jonathon and Max William sound rather nice.

I like Max Oliver

wendy33 · 19/06/2006 11:51

I thought Lucas but now not too sure!

MrsBadger · 19/06/2006 11:59

strangely enough I know a 6mo called Lucas Max...

trinityrhino · 19/06/2006 13:26

I like max oliver too Smile

kipper22 · 19/06/2006 17:24

wendy33 - max lucas is nice but it's not just in your head because of matt lucas from little britain is it?!

Rav · 21/06/2006 23:07

reminds me of Matt Lucas too! Like William and Oliver - what about Finlay or Harvey?

zenjy1 · 22/06/2006 14:41

How about the letter "P"? That way he gets the whole middle initial thing, he can choose a name when he's older if he doesn't like Max, and he's also an original! Anyone else who's read the world according to garp will know roughly what i mean.
