Sorry, this is on behalf of my sister, I apologise.

My sister had a bit of bleeding so went to the maternity unit at her hospital. The babies heartbeat was fine and my sisters bloods came back fine but her cervix has opened a bit and they are a bit concerned about this.

They have scheduled a scan for Tuesday.

Has this happened to someone else you know/yourself? What could this possibly mean?

I am worried but at the same time am sure they are taking the appropriate measures.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Is it her 1st? I think in 2nd pregnancy's the cervix can be slightly open

It's her first, yes.

She has had a MC before though but in the first trimester? I doubt that would affect the current pregnancy though as the cervix wasn't fully engaged then?

Im not sure sorry, I guess it would depend on how the mc was managed ie if it was an ercp dont they dilate your cervix? I would hope that they would have gotten her in before tuesday if they thought they needed to but if she has any concerns I would call maternity triage.

Must be so scary for her, they might recommend a stitch (though it's late for that) or bed rest, there is a short cervix club thread in the antenatal section which could be useful. Hope her cervix holds up for longer Flowers if it were me, I'd put myself on bed rest until Tues.
