Hi all, this is my first, I came off the pill thinking it would take about a yr to fall pregnant since I've been on it almost 10yrs (im 26). We were over the moon when we were pregnant just over 3months later, I sound useless but I couldn't remember when my July period was other than early July, so gp estimates 7-8 weeks! I was drinking most weekends, eating foods I shouldn't, taking the wrong vitamins but am now doing everything I should but I am so worried about these period like pains I'm getting. Is this normal? I can't pin point the area, some times it feels like my period is coming, other times it feels like trapped wind. With the pain I'm having lots of wind, so it could all be wind! Is this normal? Any help advice would be great to reassure me all will be ok! Roll on the 12week scan!!

Period like pain is normal. I had it early on.
Good luck with the rest of pregnancy :)

Thank you :) I just am panicking probably more than I need to! (Like most I guess) I'm worried about going back to work next week, (luckily I was on annual leave this week when I found out), and having pains & wind and ppl finding out too soon. My mum had a couple of mc so I'm scarred it runs in the family, my gp told me there not related so I guess I should stop worrying!?

Yeah i wouldn't worry. My mum had a mc but my pregnancy has been fine... The more you worry the more you will stress and stress isn't good for either of you...

I told a few people at work just so if something did happen or I felt I'll there were people there who knew what was wrong. But Obvs it's up to you.

The pain I had was my uterus stretching.. Its all normall stuff.. .

So stostop worrying and enjoy :)

I had this in early pregnancy too, one time I had such pain walking from the car to the house that DH suggested we call the doctor, I was all prepared to dial and then...lots of wind! I was mortified! Since then I've learnt not to tell DH until I'm sure it's not wind lol, 90% of the time it is though, the rest of the time as pp said its uterus expanding. From what I've read (somewhat of a worrier myself) growing pains are quite common Smile. Try not to worry too much, that 12 week scan will be here before you know it, and then the 20 week and then you wake up one morning and realise you're in the third trimester and wonder where the time all went! (That was me this morning lol). Congratulations and good luck with everything Thanks x

Thank you both for your reassuring words. I've decide tomorrow I will not worry about the pain , not sure how to hide the wind tho tomorrow with a full house for a belated birthday party. I'm sure hubby won't mind me blaming him ;) hope both your pregnancies run smoothly-Im sure ill become a regular poster asking for advice &being told to stop worrying! :)

I had awful trapped wind from about 4-10 weeks and that dull a hey period feeling so I'd say its probably normal- but do ask a midwife if you're concerned. It's returned with avengance at 24 weeks so just enjoy the symptomless bit in between if you get it!
