After chasing swab results from my doctors for nearly 2 weeks they have finally hunted then down and what I thought was thrush is actually a Staph infection. My symptoms are frequent urination, very very itchy bits and also on the inside. Looking red and inflamed. I had it for 2 weeks prior to going the doctors so have now been suffering for over a month! Some days I haven't been able to go out the itching has been so bad! I've started antibiotics today and I am praying to god they work! I'm also very worried about the baby and have no faith in my doctors opinion so think I may

Sorry posted too soon because a moth attacked me in bed!!!! Think I may call the midwife tomorrow. Has anyone experienced this sort of infection before? I'm 17 weeks.

Hello Fluff, hope you're feeling a bit better..?

Sorry I have no experience of this. I thought these type of infections were like boils or impetigo, like skin infections....

Have you rung your midwife. I would definitely speak to her.

I know this post was ages ago but I apparently have the same thing and I’m concerned and seems to be hardly anything available on the internet about it. How did things turn out? How was your baby?

Thanks

Hello Cyorgancy ! What was the outcome of your diagnose ? I have the same issue... Thank you in advance

Hi I forgot to respond to this. I had no further issues and went on to have a healthy baby at 40+3. Hope that gives you some comfort.

I ended up going into labour at 33 weeks due to it but then they managed to slow down the labour with the steriod injections but then was induced at 36 weeks because baby boy was in to much stress which ended up with me havinf him via emergency c section ,his currently nearly 2 soon, healthy thankfully

Hello Cyorganci! OMG that's very scary, you're very strong as well as your baby! I am very happy that it ended up good!

I always fight with this staph a when it's winter and cold. Especially when I am sick or get cold and after that my immune system is weakened.
I am 19 weeks pregnant and my symptoms started in my nose, inflammations and impetigo... awesome. I ran to the doctor she prescribed me Augmentin I started it today and she took a smear from vagina. And now I found an inflamed spot 'down there' also.

I hope that my fast reaction was enough to avoid the worst case scenario.

I will keep update my condition to help others who has the same issue in the future.
