'Morning sickness' in the middle of the night!?

Hi,
I am about 7weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy). I suffered with terrible morning sickness in first pregnancy for about 17weeks and it was during the day.
This pregnancy seems to have thrown me a curve ball as I am now only slightly nauseous during the day but I wake up about 2-3am each night and struggle with terrible nausea/sickness for hours. This is having a knock on effect and I am totally shattered through the day.
Has anyone else suffered with so called 'morning sickness' keeping them up all through the night?

Yep! I am regularly awoken and then sick at about 4am... Such a nightmare!

No advice on how to improve it though, sorry.

How many weeks are you beccadugs?

I've had this, though for me it was night and day. Are you able to vomit? I found that if I drank water then got up and walked around I could throw up and go back to sleep. I've had it on and off all the way through pregnancy - started throwing up since week 6, now week 17 and still going!

I also find that if I am REALLY full from supper I feel better if I wake up in the night. So if I have a light supper I make sure I eat a couple of pieces of toast before going to sleep.

I'm 13 weeks! I do have constant sickness too though.

I'm on some nice medicine which probably allows me to function during the day.

Carr's water biscuits by the bed used to help me with that.

Leopoldina - I will have to get some of those and see if that helps in the night. Thanks Smile

Beccadugs - shame, it sounds like you are really suffering. I am not taking anything for it and hope it will be over in the next few weeks (here's to positive thinking!) lol

crazy if water biscuits are no good for you (I found the taste they left in my mouth really, really unbearable, and they are dreadful to throw up) then I've also heard digestives recommended. Stale bananas for me have been good, or make a piece of toast before going to bed and have it to hand.

Definitelysometime · 29/08/2013 18:10

I have this too! Find that a banana or a couple of biscuits at 3 or 4 am does help a little. It's horrible.

A friend found jelly babies helped. Just a thought, although I cringe at eating sweets in bed!

Thanks for all your comments everyone. It's nice to know I'm not alone on this one. I will try some strategies and will post once I have found a winner (if there is one).
