I'm 31+4 weeks pregnant. I don't know why but I have had this nagging feeling that my baby is going to be early for a while now. I know that means nothing but has anyone else had a "feeling" that has been right?

For the last couple days I have had pretty much constant and very uncomfortable BH.

I wasent particularly worried but my partner has been called away for work at short notice for the weekend and he is now panicking about me being left alone, which is now making me panic!

Please tell me I'm being silly or if I'm not being silly give me some advice! Thankyou!

I had that feeling. I had stron BHs that would come every 5 minutes from midday till about 8pm, every day from 20 weeks.

Midwives at the antenatal classes would eye me up and tell me they'd see me soon.

But, nope, had him at 40+3

You might go early, you might go late. I think the safest bet is that you won't hit your due date!

Good luck!

I had painful braxton hicks very regularly from about 30 weeks. I was pretty convinced she was gonna be early, and she was. 2 whole days early! Grin

You aren't being silly though. I think once you get to that last trimester you feel ready to give birth any time. While you are almost certainly fine talk to your midwife at your next appointment, they'll put your mind at ease.

But if anything changes, or the braxtons don't go away or get more intense and closer together you just give the midwives a call. No one minds false alarms.

Hi Op! I'm exactly the same!!! Im 35 weeks and Painful BH every single night without fail and every day I think the baby is coming. Are you having warm baths at 3am too?
I'm interested to hear what the other MN'ers have to say on this so will be following this with interest xx

I had this feeling - now at 39+6 so unless baby comes today that shall be proved wrong. I now think I have another good week to go!

It was the same for me.

People kept looking at me from quite early on in my pregnancy saying 'ooh you will never go to 40 weeks" 42 weeks actually plus an extra 3 days that it took to induce me!!

Oh god I am so relieved to hear this, I'm 35 weeks and have been getting them since about 30 weeks but they've gradually been getting more and more intense and I've spent most of today thinking I must be about to go into labour! I get them every time I have to get up in the middle of the night (ie a million times) and they're very slowly getting stronger but we're moving house next week and I just can't give birth before then!! I feel much better now for reading this, thank you, I might try and relax a bit now... and have a(nother) warm bath Grin
