Anti natal classes?

I'm 33 weeks pg and haven't heard anything about my anti natal classes. I know lots of people have said they aren't that great, but I still want to go. When did you get sent/ told the dates of yours? When do they normally start? How many classes does the course consist of?

I'm seeing the mw next week so will chase it up with her if i should have heard by now.

Thanks :)

Just done a quick google, OP, and it seems hospitals 'offer classes at around 34 weeks'. Can't see if that means that's when they start or that's when they ask you if want to join! They say it's typical to have between 3 to 6 classes.

It does also say that it's best to look into it and sign up early as the classes get full early on.

Maybe you should ring your maternity unit asap and ask?

Oh balls. I thought it was something you were automatically put forward for. I'll ring and check tomorrow, thanks fluffy!

hey OP, our midwife booked us in for them at our 20wk scan. definitely worth giving them a call. we only have 2 evening classes, starting at 34 wks.

Oh no! I'm far too late then!! I'll ring them anyway but I won't get my hopes up about it. Bother.

My midwife booked me in for them at 8 weeks, starting at 25 weeks. Sorry OP.

I was given a form to send of at 20 weeks. They booked me in for 3 classes starting at 34 weeks. Speak to your midwife, she should give you a contact number.

I had to arrange mine myself. My community midwife told me where to go. I'm currently 31 weeks and they start in 2 weeks time; 1 night a week for 3 weeks. I booked mine last week. Hospital didn't mention anything to me about them x

Thanks ladies, I'll ring the midwife tomorrow. What a plank.. I did think it was leaving it a bit late!

I'm 32 weeks and only found out about them last week after pestering midwife every appointment! Was given a mobile number who just told me to turn up this wk so don't panic just yet, you might be fine. Oh and mine are only 3 weeks plus I was the earliest one there, some only had a couple of weeks left x

Where I live you don't have to book in for most of them, just turn up. They are all advertised on the Babymaze website, so you may find yours is the same and all will be well Smile
