Four positive tests including one clearblue which said 1-2. Had pink and brown spotting over last few days. Breasts mega sore and very tired/emotional. Doctor referred me for vaginal scan which showed nothing. Had hcg blood test and back thursday to see if levels have changed. So confused? Am I pregnant but really early or have I miscarried without knowing? Any help or advice appreciated xx

If you are only 1-2 weeks then I'd have thought it would be very early for anything to be seen on a scan? Even on a vaginal one?? Though I may be wrong.

I only say that because I've seen posts from women on here who have had bleeding but haven't been referred for a scan until they are 6 weeks along as their GP said it too early to see anything before then.

Either way, my fingers are crossed for you x

I dont actually know how pregnant I am. The doctor referred me for early scan due to the bleeding I think. I am hoping its just implantation bleeding that seems common as I have other pregnancy symptoms. Dont want to think the worst but will know for definite tomorrow xx

I had to have an early scan because of some bleeding I had at 7wks and I know how frightening the prospect can be. It is hard not to think the worst. Thankfully everything turned out fine for me and I hope it does for you too x

There's two options here.
1/ its implantation bleeding and its too early to see.
2/ your pg is ectopic.
Until you've had more bloods and probably another scan its hard to tell.
I really hope its number 1.
If its number 2, they are on the case dead early, and things can be resolved with the least disturbance/damage.
If you experience any pain at all, down low one sided or in the point of your shoulder, tell EPU ASAP.
I have everything crossed for you OP. Time will tell. Xx

I have had numerous miscarriages and was told a test can be positive for 4/6 weeks after a loss,

jemsmammy · 28/08/2013 13:27

Does implantation bleeding last a few days? No pain at all just slight cramp which I had with my first pregnancy and it just feels like stomach adjusting xx

If the clear blue is 1 to 2 then you are approx 4 weeks pregnant, far too early for anything to show on a scan

SoonToBeSix · 28/08/2013 13:32

Like Merkin says you are only 3- 4 weeks pregnant. I had a scan at 5w 5 d and there was a sac nothing more. Two half weeks later two healthy heartbeats. At your stage in pregnancy you would not expect to see anything and what you are having sounds like perfectly normal implantation bleeding. I really wouldn't worry.

SoonToBeSix · 28/08/2013 13:33

And yes implantation bleeding can last a few days.

jemsmammy · 28/08/2013 13:36

Thank you all for your advice and comments. Feel like a wreck trying to cope with it all and the waiting is awful. The hcg levels results will be confirmed tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed its good news xxx

Excited2meetmyprincess · 28/08/2013 15:19

I had a scan at 6 weeks and had to go back the week later as it was still too early to see anything so I would say at 4 weeks (which you would be if clear blue says 1-2) then it is far too early for anything to show on scan.
Try not to worry, I know easier said than done. Xxx

I found out I was pg by poas just after my internal scan (prompted by mn) and was very shocked to find out I was pg. scan was to check everything had come away from mc!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/08/2013 17:35

I think the worst part has to be the total helplessness of it all. With pretty much any other medical issue, there is something you can do. A drug to try, a treatment to undergo. With pg, especially early pg, there is nothing. It sticks or it doesn't. You just have to wait it out.

The waiting is hard, but time does pass. Tomorrow will be here before you know it and hopefully bring good news. {{{hug}}}

I also had an internal ultrasound at 4 weeks and it showed nothing. I didn't have the bleeding but had a lot of pain in my side and the doctors told me it could be ectopic. The pain turned out to be implantation cramping.
Chances are yours is also not ectopic and you are having implantation bleeding. I went for a repeat blood test 48 hours later and it had more than doubled and 2 weeks later on the abdominal scan there was a fetal pole and a little heart beating away.
Did they tell you what your hcg levels were today? If they have doubled next time they test there is a very good chance your pregnancy is just too early to see on the scan.
Good luck I know what a worrying time this can be. I also panicked as I just presumed it must be ectopic and I was convinced my tube was going to rupture and I'd bleed to death. As you are so very early on in your pregnancy, if something isn't going to plan, the hospital will be able to catch it very early and treat you with minimal damage, as someone upthread said. I had internal scans and it was 8 weeks before anything could be seen.

I had an early vaginal scan because of bleeding (quite heavy, I mistook it for a normal period at first) but there was nothing to see at 6 weeks. I had to go back at 7 weeks+ to have the pg confirmed. She is now 3" taller than me and growing up scarily fast. Good luck with everything

KatyDidItAgain · 28/08/2013 21:29

Oh, another thing, when I had the first scan when we could see something it looked like an empty sac. That apparently empty sac will be 10 next year and she's a tough cookie.
