Movements at 30 weeks?

I'm not worried just interested really, I wondered if anyone else noticed that movements went a lot more 'squirmy' around this time rather than violent kicks?!

I spent a day on Saturday fretting about movement until I realised that they're now a lot more rolling / squirming movements, hardly any big kicks now as such - I cant feel a lot of them unless I have my hand on my tummy and then it feels constant, like there's some serious rolypoly's going on it there!! Grin

I am a bit Hmm that surely the baby can't be so big its running out of room already though?!?!

At my midwife appt on Fri she did say the baby was transverse still, so don't know if that makes a difference to what you can feel?

yes I get this alot too, a lot of movement but not many kicks. mw says baby is back to front so kicking into the placenta soni won't feel them as much!!

32 weeks here and movements are more squirmy than anything else. The odd dramatic kick--less than once a day probably! He's been head down since 28 weeks and he has some very quiet days. Think it's normal as they begin to run out of room, or get head down.

I'm only at 26 weeks so I am still feeling very strong kicks - but I wanted to ask - can you tell which way your baby is lying? A friend of mine seems to know whether it is a kick or a punch and which direction the baby is lying. I have NO CLUE! Am I just not paying attention? Am I missing the signs? Or is she being a bit presumptuous to claim she knows.

PinkParsnips · 26/08/2013 18:57

Yes that makes sense about facing to the back!

Yankee my friend who's due 2 weeks before me is the same, she says she can tell but I cant really.

Although I did know the baby was laying acrossways before the midwife told me as all movements were in my sides, but I cant tell between a punch or a kick or a head or a bum!

Mine is transverse too at 31 weeks and also very squirmy/rolly. I haven't worked out which side the feet are because the kicks aren't very pronounced. It's very different to my last pregnancy, when DS was engaged by this stage and kicking me very hard in the ribs all the time!

BigKicker · 26/08/2013 22:30

I'm so glad you posted this. I'm also 30 weeks and was quietly worried because I expected way more violent kicks at this point but it has died down to more faint movements but they are alot lower down so presumably baby has moved. Lots of swirling feelings and the odd kick. I wonder will this change? I was liking the big kicks!

At 28 weeks my baby was breech and booting away all day everyday. 3 days after the scan movement stopped and I had to go in for monitoring. Cue another scan to find out he'd turned head down but was still booting away! Think the change in position meant I couldn't feel things as much.

I'm getting a lot of squirming and rolling now rather than so many kicks

30 weeks here, and have also noticed its more rolling around than kicks, or elbows and knees poking out no so much kicks, think its pretty normal x

PinkParsnips · 27/08/2013 14:04

Oh definitely sounds all normal then! Smile

I've ordered a birthing ball today to try and get this one shifted down into the right position!
